I recently knit my 1st pair of socks and love them so much. I used some really pretty yarn I discovered at hobby lobby of all places. No nylon in the yarn so they prob won’t last long but I love them all the same ❤ PS the purple yarn next to the yellow ceramic pots was beautiful!

That is the Ranunculus Sweater by Midori Hirose. It is a great knit. It has a very unique start to it but the pattern is ultimately easy if you trust it. It also comes with companion video links of stitches that were new to me. I would highly recommend!

@@thepoppylibrary Thanks for your response. I have seen that sweater a few times, but did not really take to it. Maybe it was the color you chose or the fitting, but yours looks great and I have added the pattern to my (never-ending) queue. Funny what a difference color makes to a pattern.

@@Enig_Mata Thank you! I used alpaca yarn so it made it more drapey than what I was used to seeing in pictures so I totally understand what you mean. It came out different from what I was envisioning but it worked! I appreciate the compliments!

@@thepoppylibrary Thanks for the tip on alpaca. Still new at this knitting thing and I'm now understanding the difference in yarn types. When I started, I had purchased a lot of yarn from Bluprint/craftsy and although I enjoyed the experience of knitting an entire sweater, the final outcome was soooo heavy. I just completed a sweater using Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted and once again, a heavy sweater. Still a great learning experience, but I think I will use those yarns for cardigans/blankets/hats. Now, I have quite a few yarn from colormart (cashmere and merino) which are supposed to be great quality yarn and I think I'll start using these for sweaters since they will not be as heavy. I've seen quite a few knitters hold their strands with a kidsilk haze and I'll probably go with that. How would cashmere/merino compare to alpaca? Your sweater has the drape/lightness I like.
