Episode 280 "KISS My Ass Classic KISS Regrooved"
This week Tom & Zeus review the 1994 KISS tribute album, "KISS My Ass Classic KISS Regrooved."
To coincide with KISS' 20th Anniversary, the band decided to organize a tribute album featuring today's hottest rock acts. Artists like Lenny Kravitz, Anthrax, Gin Blossoms and more interpreted classic KISS songs. KISS was even able to get the biggest act of the 1990's Garth Brooks to perform "Hard Luck Woman."
Some artist were pretty straight forward with their covers, while others took big chances, like Toad The Wet Sprocket on "Rock And Roll All Nite", The Mighty Mighty Bosstones on "Detroit Rock City" and a supergroup made up of Tool, Rage Against The Machine and Faith No More called Shandi's Addiction with their version of "Calling Dr. Love."
The guys breakdown the track selection and rank the songs and treat this like a compilation album, so they then rank the compilation album and cover versus the previous reviewed compilation albums.

Megadeth released their version of Strange ways on ther compilation Warchest. The solo is amazing on that one.
Rock on Boys this is a great review of a great album, different at times but great my favorite Extreme - Strutter , Lenny Kravitz - Deuce because done in bands style , Extreme Is brilliant Zeus their latest album is fantastic , Rock N Roll all night is my least favorite …Tom com on bro….pitty my band Frozen Tears wasn’t around then we could have put Com on and Love me on it 😂 love you guys
Also, there is a compilation called Kiss coverd in Scandinavia. That has some really cool covers. Emtombed doing God of thunder for example. It was only made in 12000 copies. So it's rare, but I got. It also got a cool version of Detroit rock city. I can recommend that if you can find it. Perhaps I could put it up if someone are interested?
It's funny...KISS had a few grunge bands paying tribute to KISS, while KISS recorded a tribute to grunge album with C.O.S. (which was one hell of an underrated album)
a lot of big bands wanted to be on the record but there companies told them no .gene had the nerve to say the people who were on there were the best choice .garth brooks wanted to do another song but kiss told him no .garth said chris gaines could sing hard luck woman but kiss told him no. waiting for the kiss my silly safe tribute album with fishnuts malloy and the hamneggers doing JELLYROLL
Ace and Peter back together again. You think you want to see it but you don't. They played well together on Alive! but they're miles apart now. And a spoken word tour would require someone to interpret and keep things on track and most likely they would use Eddie Trunk. Seen it.
The guitar fills, solo and outro solo in Going blind is pretty cool compared to the original. In my opinion...
