EPISODE.... 17 KARRATHA | DAMPIER | COSSACK | POINT SAMSON | BURRUP PENINSULA

In this Episode we venture around the KARRATHA area. Karratha has everything you need from shopping, wine and dining to great accomodation.
Karratha is certainly a HIDDEN GEM.
I must say we did visit Maccas quite a bit as we like their COFFEE ☕️.
Go and have a look at the LOOKOUT in Karratha. It really gives you a Birds Eye view of the town and makes you realise just how big the town actually is....
DAMPIER....WOW... We loved exploring Dampier.
We got the girls to watch the movie " RED DOG " the night before just to familiarise them of some of the history and TRUE STORY behind the Red Dog movie.
Tori got quite emotional at the end and the only way to calm her down was promising to buy her a Red Dog plush toy....oh by the way you find them at the VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE just as you drive into Karratha.
Dampier has a an AWESOME PLAYGROUND for the kids. They played on it for ages. Danielle and I just sat back and ENJOYED THE VIEWS of the water and surrounds as it is located right next to the beach.
The beaches at Dampier are absolutely beautiful and so SWIM WORTHY. You have to go for a dip when you visit.
They also have a PUB there if you are after a meal, lunch or dinner...
BURRUP PENINSULA is a great day trip out to explore the region. Visit the ABORIGINAL ROCK ART which is TOTALLY AWESOME. There were so many that we lost count. Just take your time and learn about the art that you find. There are plenty of signs highlighting some art work with the meanings behind it.
It is a CLASS 2 walk, so very easy. It only takes you 45 minutes return.
HEARSONS COVE is a CRACKER SPOT.
The beach is quite nice and mostly consists of shells so I would suggest taking some Aqua Shoes with you as it can be a little rough on little feet. Don't let that put you off though.
It is a GREAT PLACE FOR A SWIM, but just beware with little ones near the waters edge as it does have a gutter and drops off a bit.
You are able to drive your car on the beach and set up for the day.
They also have BBQ FACILITIES to cook ya snags on it for lunch.
There is plenty of beach for everyone.
KARRATHA GAS PLANT INFORMATION CENTRE is worth visiting.
WOW what a MASSIVE INDUSTRY.
Some of the information provided is just mind blowing. They give you PRODUCTION AMOUNTS etc....
We did a day trip out to the COSSACK REGION,
If you like HISTORY, you will LOVE COSSACK.
There is a walking trail that you can do around town that gives a lot of information about the history. This was one of the highlights of our stay in the region.
We also visit READER HEAD LOOKOUT. What a cracker spot to view the peninsula.
There are LOW COST CAMPS there which we show you. We go through cost and what they look like.
Across the water is JARMAN ISLAND. Yep a good opportunity to launch the drone from the lookout to get the lighthouse. CHECK IT OUT !!
POINT SAMSON also has AWESOME BEACHES. They have a couple of CARAVAN PARKS there if you want to stay out there. There is a lot to do there if you really want to explore.
One of the places you have to visit whilst you are there is HONEYMOON COVE. What can I say except ABSOLUTE BLISS. Water, sand and the colour of the water is to die for.....JUST WOW.
Another place you can just sit back under your umbrella and take in the views....
WICKHAM... We didn't really explore much there except going to the WOOLIES to pick up some lunch.
On the entry they have a great display of MINING TRUCKS AND A LOCOMOTIVE.
ROEBOURNE is a small town. We went to the lookout called MOUNT WELCOME LOOKOUT where they had a display of ABORIGINAL MEN overlooking their land...
REALLY INFORMATIVE !!!!
Well guys I hope you enjoy this episode.

STAY SAFE 👍
