Episode 135: Coronado, California//Lulu Gets a Beach Day!
After five amazing weeks in Quartzsite, it's time to move on to San Diego. We get a real treat as we get on the road, seeing the entire Budweiser Clydesdale hitch at a local truck stop. We battle rain and wind heading into San Diego but make it there in one piece.
After a few days of chores and errands, we finally get to go out and play. For our first excursion we decide to head over to the small city of Coronado, best known for its pristine beaches and home to the famous Hotel del Coronado (they filmed the Marilyn Monroe movie Some Like it Hot here).
First we stop at Coronado's dog beach, where Lulu gets her first ever opportunity to run and play in the sand and surf. Next we head over to the Coronado Brewing Company for a delicious lunch and some great craft beer. We top it off with ice cream at the Coronado Landing, and then make our way over to the Hotel Del before heading back home.
It was a full day of fun!!

Hi guys..we miss you 🥰..we used to love going to CA..had a terminal in Newport Beach...always went in on I-8 then north...loved San Diego..but..things change...will not go back now...too many problems..did not know lulu was a dog 😂..so cute..thanks..stay safe..J&A

Shhhh...Lulu doesn't know she's a dog either. 🤣😉 We miss you both too. We think of you often and pray for you and your girls.
Looks like fun, I have not been in California in at least a decade. The onion rings looked good. Stay safe and healthy.

We always have a lot of fun (and not nearly enough time) in San Diego. Our family is what keeps us coming back. Those onion rings were pretty good!
Ah,miss the old places of San Diego. We called it the mermaid bar. Miss the navy planes coming in slow and low. Can't forget The Dell. We did the ponies every year at the DelMar. Damn,those were the good old days for me. Now, on a new chapter in my life's book.

You aren't kidding. It cost us $50 to fill the Smart. Up until now I think the most we ever spent was $29. It's crazy. San Diego is a really beautiful city though. Lots to see and do.

We're talking about maybe heading to the Gulf this winter. Galveston would definitely be part of the trip.

Thank you! We have some ideas we're working on for fall and winter. This summer we will be in Arkansas and will be trying to find the hidden gems and cool places in the state.
