iIgot one for the same reason, and to be fair it sounds fantastic. You can use the bridge in "modern" and the neck in "classic" and it's a pretty close match for £9000 less. Throw in a 0.99 tiny round mirror from Wish and your good to go :D

Just brought the flying v version,and wow! Epiphone have really upped there game,it's really well built and sounds amazing!!! 👍

@@jeanluc1313 I've owned a Fender Strat (standard/mim), Fender Tele (standard/mim), Ibanez Prestige S2075. Currently own an Epiphone '67 Flying V and Charvel ProMod San Dimas. I've had the Flying V since around 2000 or 2001. The cheap Epi Flying V has been the favorite of the lot, and of the Prophecy line I think the Flying V is my favorite as well. I've heard reviews that the Prophecy Flying V has really bad neck dive which is unfortunate. Hoping to see these in local stores eventually. I'd like to check out both the Les Paul and the Flying V. There's also a really nice looking Edwards LP Custom on eBay that's tempting! I've never owned a LP shaped guitar.

Waiting for the red tiger LP to appear in the listing to place my pre-order.

I have a Schecter with Fishman pick-ups, and an 8-string ESP with the Stephen Carpenter signature Fishman pick-ups. They're the only pick-ups I want going forward. They have a clarity I haven't heard in any other pick-up and on headphones especially they sound so large and tall, like a high wall, if that makes sense.

Good video! I was thinking about buying the extura, but i was wondering, is the scale length correct? On the site it says 628mm, but i have never seen that scale length be used on a 24 fret guitar. If it really is 628mm it would be an interesting buy, i am looking for a guitar with that fret to scale ratio for quite some time.

Hey, I mean, that's the normal Gibson / Epiphone scale length so I'm not that surprised, that they stick to it. Even with 24 frets. The Prophecy Les Paul felt pretty much normal to play, but with more frets and better access to the upper frets. //cheers, Kris

I know what I would change about the guitar, adding a floyd rose variation, I mean it's already 24 frets and has that modern neck.

I'd like to see a FR offered as an option on the V. I'd also like to see a polished Nickle offering..l am no fan of the "Brushed" look..it reminds me of a bathroom faucet.😝

Throw a String Butler and a TP6 tail on it.. it already has a Graphtech nut.. tuning stability would be off the chart.. they have amazing sustain.. versatility is far better than most.. with the Fishman all the models sounds exactly the same.. pick your body style and roll with it!

Side note. The feel and playability of the new prophecy blows last gen out of the water. I have both.

When will they be out?

I have the Koa and the first edition of the prophecy it had just 2 knobs one vol one tone and beautiful curly top

This may be a dumb question but how much does the body effect the tone? Like does the SG sound different to the Les Paul?

I have listened to a lot of comparisons.. the body shape seems to have ZERO effect on the tone..it's all in the pickups, nut and bridge saddles which are all identical throughout this series of models, they sound great, very versatile, very very well made and thought out..pick your choice of bodies and roll!

@@jeanluc1313 in other words I'm a fan of vintage PAF (gibsons patent applied for) style humbuckers with a vintage sounding output. But this guitar in the video runs hot and it sounds amazing.

Guy in right was making fun of guy on lefts tone. Guy on right was just had "all the gain" turn up!

Just look for the Modern or old High Performance series. The 2019s were my favorite (2019 Standard had most of the HP add ons), but when you hit the coil taps, unlike this one, they actually changed the sound

Everyone that tested that guitar not even thought of playing some Malmsteen tunes on the single coil sound. Like the guitar is a metal guitar and the most recognized single coil sound in metal is a Malmsteen neck pickup lead. Such a shame.

Interesting all of the Prophecy LP's have the diamond logo on the headstock. But ummm it is not a custom model. Guessing it is just a prophecy thing.

I will tell you from comparing a V Proph to a Gibson V base model that you would have to have a Gibson Custom V to be close in comparison. It's miles ahead of a base Gibson.. a Gibson Custom? Maybe not so much.. Gibson owns Epi so it's a precision machined guitar instead of Gibson's hand made..the choice is yours but Epis are far more consistent in their construction.. like it, love it, or hate it. I find it the best Epi rock guitar to date. The logo! I love it. But it's no factor to me really.. it's a great guitar at 1/2 the cost of a Gibson hand made.

If the pickups don't do it for you, this axe is way worthy of modding, so many nice things about it you really can't go wrong.

2 Questions: will the pickups appear on Gibson models? 2. will the pickups be available on aftermarket?

Highly doubt it. They never sub out their pickups. Why i bought this epi. And as of now these are excluaive to the prophecy. Cant get them aftermarket. But probably one similar.

These ARE amazing! I think a base model Gibson V is going somewhere around $1600-$1800? If the Epi was the same price ld STILL buy the Epi! It's a far better guitar!

Do they have 24 frets

for the money, you get a shit-ton. neck joint i believe has been contoured for easier access to upper frets. cant decide between les paul or sg. never was big on sg guitars but the double horns provide better access to upper frets than the les paul... and maybe add this vibrato (floydrose.com/products/frtx?variant=29837643090).

Is the neck finish glossy or satin?

Nice looking/designed guitar like the rest of the new Epiphone line-up, but I absolutely hate the Fishman Fluence pickups. Change my mind....and I bet they are 3-400 dollar of the price too. They don't sound like anything "organic" at all.

You can rip out the Fishman (God l love freedom!) Throw some Gibson 57s or some Lollar Imperials if you want "Organic" and you will still be light years ahead of ANYTHING Gibson offers in that price range even adding the new pickups and installation! There really is nothing remotely close to these Prophecy's on the market for that money..ebony? What is Gibson's cheapest offering with a ebony board? 5 ply binding? However the Pickups? They are very subjective..most LOVE them..you hate them.. that's an easy fix!
