It would be interesting to see you do a strat style guitar tier list or something like that. Being you play mostly single cuts, it would be kinda cool to see your opinion on them

I wanted one and kept putting it off. Now they’re so hard to find and over priced.
Awesome video. Thanks for the hard work. That's alot of guitars to take a look at.
I got a 2019 Epiphone 50s Gold Top Standard coming for $300 and I can’t wait! Epiphones are some of my favorites. You get the classic looks for a cheap price, helps me not feel bad about modding the crap out of them lol. Love the videos!
One of your best video man highly éducative and discovered a few models that I need to try keep up the good work AG❤
I have 4 Epiphone guitars A new JJN gold Glory A recent casino A Wayne Static signature v And a 1994 Joe Pass All nice guitars ,my main gripe with all the epiphones is the same gripe the poly is too thick and you can really tell at the binding and neck body contact points, outside of that there all for the really you do get your dollar's worth, the more expensive Epiphone are excellent the lower price still decent if you don't mind modding upgrades, the cheapest ones are still more playable and functional than other brands even at the worst. The JJN signature models sound amazing and I use mine as a stunt double backup for my Gibson r54 and Gibson SG Jr
So few forget the 1960 Tribute Plus with Gibson Classic /57 and /57 Plus pickups, Gibson wiring and CTS pots etc. They were made between 2011 - 2015 and I still love mine it's outstanding!

You are so right. I have one and it is BY FAR the best bang for the buck. I got mine on the used market for $550 I think. The only alteration I made was putting a bone nut on it. I would say they are easily on level with a $1,700 Gibson offering.
Pretty good list, Hunter. I really enjoyed this.

This was one of my favorite videos from you. I have only recently started my deep dive into the wacky world of Epiphone, and have found some I love (the black JJN "Old Glory" and the Faulkner V). I have also found a couple that modded pretty easily, like the Guitar Center special Custom Pro Black Back Limited Edition. Just needed locking tuners, a pickup upgrade and a new nut. Great platform, though. Awesome breakdown of all the models.

Still have mine. Might be a bit biased since Machine Head is my favorite band, but it's such a badass guitar.
Awesome job! Thanks for this!
I’ve got the White Lightning Explorer and it’s AMAZING. The JB in that bridge absolutely SCREAMS. It’s also just a great feeling Guitar. Usually the first one I reach for when I want to sling some riffs.
This tier list was a fun idea. Easy watch!
Love the purple Extura! It's an awesome guitar! 🎈
Hey bro this is an interesting list you've made. I glad to see the 59 make it in the top tier. I own one and I think the Gibson pickups sound absolutely legendary. Both of them.
Love the list. But where is the SG Modern trans fade. I think I remember you liked it. Wonder where it falls on the list
Great review! Good to see I have 2 on your Top Tier review.
This was fantastic!! But, I really need a printable list to follow along.
I’m so glad you put The Lazarus in S tier because that guitar is fantastic
Great Video! I really appreciated this one! Cheers!
A shame the casinos not on the list. A perfect guitar.
Glad to see the inspired by 1955 LP ranked high, it’s a great guitar !
Nice list you got there^^ I started playing on Epiphones ~10 years ago with an SG Custom Prophecy EX (Ebony fretboard, EMG81/85, Mahogany body, Tune-O-Matic bridge) for ~350€. Even though the guitar has a bit of neck dive, it still plays amazing and I still come back to it from time to time. A few years later I got myself a Les Paul Custom Prophecy Plus (EMG81/85, purple finish, Mahogany body, Rosewood fretboard -> at first I thought it was Ebony since it was so dark; and it has a production error, where 1 of the 4 nobs is blue instead of purple -> I don't see it as an error, it makes it look just a tad bit more unique :D ). This is my main guitar to this day and considering that it only cost me 550€ (including the case) that was one heck of a grab :D

I also have an SG CP EX, good guitar spec-wise, but the electronic is kinda meh. The jack hole rotates, the knobs kinda need a rewire. But I love it, it was my first decent guitar after a stratocaster ripoff
I just bought that exact Matt Heafy Snofall that was in the pics you had up. They are crazy pricey now!!
I have only one Epiphone. It’s converted left-handed, but I like it. 1974 Epiphone ET-270, the Epiphone version of the Aria Diamond 1802T. It’s like a mix of Epiphone, Fender, Aria, Univox, and even Mosrite features. Neck: Epiphone headstock, skinny, extremely low frets, bone nut Scale: 24.75” Body: Cherry burst double cutaway with black Epiphone pickguard Bridge & Tailpiece: Matsumoku vinyl-saddle floating roller with Telecaster style tail plate and Jazzmaster-style floating vibrato Pickups: 2 Matsumoku Art Deco single coils (unpotted 70’s P90/Telecaster hybrids) Controls: 500K Tone and Volume knobs, 3-way pickup toggle, 2-way Bass Boost slider switch.
I got the 1959 standard and F'ing love it!! The 60's tribute is fantastic as well.
My first electric back in 2000 was a black SG Bully. Fantastic guitar which I still have, and it came from the factory for $150 with a flame maple neck. Today it's rocking Hipshot lockers and a Matt Pike Dragonaut in the bridge and I still play it every day alongside my ESP custom shops and Gibson's.

Hey, very cool and interesting video, what do you think about the Epiphone Les Paul Studio series if you tried it ? (Alnico classic pro pickups, CTS electronics, rosewood fingerboard). T he LT version was ranked but not the "standard" studio.
Still have the corean LP std I bought new in 1994. It aged so well ! the neck is so thin ! Great guitar.
I REALLY don't lie the pro-bucker pickups but Epiphones look great!
I’ve been playing the ‘59 Les Paul and love it. Other than the satin finish which makes it feel a little plastic in my opinion is still a great instrument. The price tag too is unbeatable as you get the Gibson pick ups and upgraded electronics. Great review thanks!
@ Hunter: This list is now my Epiphone encyclopedia. Thank you !!!
I love my Explorer 1984 EX in alpine white,Such a banger !
I too am kicking myself for not getting an MKH Snofall. I'd still love to get it, but I thankfully have the black 7-string and I bloody love it. Good to hear that his Origin series are solid guitars, as well.
I've never heard of the Vivian Campbell Holy Diver before. That's an awesome guitar!
Notification squad incoming!!
Just got hold of a lee mahlia les Paul custom. All I have to say is, metal, rock, blues, jazz, it kills. Noise gate for neck pickup? Sure, it could use that, but the feel, the sound, the look, all of it combined inspires you. For me, I love Stevie ray, the sword, pig destroyer, OFF!, and everything In-between. It does it.
Back in 2021 I bought the 58 Flying V inspired by Gibson and out of the box it was not bad, the only con was the setup and pickups. The neck is perfect for my hands great for rhythm and lead. The tuners aren’t that bad even after some heavy down picking it still stays in tune. My 58 has double bill Lawrence pickups and now I’m looking for a Richie Faulkner v
Sad that you're not including Casino, Riviera, Sheraton
Great video, I just wish you would’ve included the 1956 gold top reissues from 2005, they were fantastic guitars and mine’s still my number one to this day. Something about the Epiphones from the Korean plant just make them feel like they’re higher quality
Crestwood? Love that thing
I have an 04ish Epiphone LE Ivory Dregan Signature Dot(ES-335) with Gibson 57' Classic & 57' Classic Plus pickups with Backyard Babies skull n Crossbones graphic near tailpiece plus his pic silk screened on truss rod cover. They also issued a signature model for Nicke Borg of The Backyard Babies, it's a Black Les Paul Custom but with Gibson 490R & 498T pickups, Backyard Babies Skull n Crossbones graphic plus his pic silk screened on the truss rod cover.
I love my Epiphone Prophecy SG 2004 with Gibson dirty finger pickups.
TOTALLY agree. Epiphone has definitely been killing it these days. Great bang for the buck and they look amazing. I love mine. Also, great video.

Have to say, though, that I think you have the pickups reversed - you like the Alnico Classic Pro but say the ProBucker is muddy, but a lot of folks (me included) feel the opposite is true.
Oohh rite lizzys guitars and thunder horse!! Really nice guitars
I saw a sno-fall on Facebook marketplace and fell in love because of the white fretboard. (I've got two ibanez dt250s with red fretboards and have always thought the color matched fretboards were super rad) I was a little late to the party so they weren't available new any more... I ended up with a snow falcon, I snagged mine from zzsounds on sale for $599. and I'm pretty sure it was the last new one anyone had in stock anywhere. I wasn't a fan of the neck, it was a little thicker than most of my other guitars so I played it for less than 10 minutes, put a set of white DR strings on it and tucked it away in the in an epiphone V hard case to keep it safe. The matching white soft case, C.O.A. and paperwork are also tucked away & I've been watching the values increase ever since. Strangely enough, I also have an Explorer GT which I got for under $150. on ebay that's a little more comfortable and easier to justify modding at that price range so I threw a set of neon green Dragonfire "Power Rails" in it. Was never a big Gibson or Epiphone fan but they're growing on me.
What a list!!🤯🤯
i love the ghosthorse
great vid!
My first electric guitar was an epiphone goth les paul studio. It's such a great guitar.
Definitely guarantee absolutely picking one up this year for real. Thanks, sir. One thats got 6 strings. 😊
Hi @Agufish did you ever tried the Ultra 339? My experience was, hen the guitar came out (around 2012) I went to buy but all of them had a horrible buzz in the lower E and a bit on the Strings. I found a guitar shop with a nice Luthier who told me he gut get it for me and set it up. Probably a bad offer for him since it was super hard for him to set up possibly having to work on frets, nut and what not. As a honourable Luthier he set it up great and it is an amazing guitar. It would be great to hear how would you classify this guitar.
Love my SG Prophecy!🤘
my 2003 zakk wylde custom will always hold a spot in my heart
When will the Sean Long Signature Charvel video drop? I'm waiting for this for months!!!
This was interesting . . . so many models that I've never seen before. BTW, I own the remake of the Wilshire with P90s. It's a great, light weight, well made, basic rock and roll machine. I also have an ebony Epi LP Custom Classic from 2014 that came with gold hardware, uncovered USA 400 series pups, a unique "aged" look on the binding and an SG style inlay on the headstock. Yes, the fretboard is rosewood, but fortunately mine is quite dark. And I think the scroll headstock design looks just fine with custom binding. 😎
I have es Paul studio Lt 😂 I’ve had it for a year and I have been contemplating gutting the whole guitar, new pick ups selectors everything

90s/early 00s Korean ones are amazing and the goth series and periphery with emgs are great
I'd love to see a tier list for other brands
bro, can we get an LTD - AA1 review and demo? that guitar is dope AF
the last epiphone i owned was in the early 90s. i never saw another one like it. it was a les paul, but it had the gibson headstock on it. it was super expensive. a great guitar but for a single flaw. the poly finish got soft when it was warm. the neck would become sticky. i would scotchbrite it, and it would play great for a few days, then my hand would smooth it out, and the neck would become sticky again. i sold it and never looked back.
How well is the Epiphone Les standard the 2020 version compared to the Epiphone Les Paul classic finished 2020 version. I'm thinking about getting the Epiphone Les Paul standard , I wanted to know how well the built was on the standard . How does it compare to a ltd 1000ec or a schecter solo ll , the construction of the Epiphone Les Paul standard ?
You forgot the les Paul studio it was my first guitar and it’s all around pretty amazing!
Sick video and gives me some slight regret that i didn't pick up a few models over the years..! but the pronunciation of Budokan as Boo-dohkan... oh no Agufish hahaha!
My first epiphone prophecy is beautiful yet tune-O-matics for the bridge are not the coolest but the brushed steel..breathtaking appearance
Does anyone have a tier list for yt tier lists? Seems like everyone is doing tier lists on yt.... Oh, phenolic thingy V is awesome btw....
I remember always seeing those Zakk Wylde signatures listed on Craigslist for like $300 back in the day.
Hey Hunter. Can you publish a link to the tier list you made. I think you can share it out.
That's a pretty solid lineup on the B tier, especially when you start to factor price in.
maybe you got a bad model of the studio LT? I don't have any bad tuning issues with mine for considering price. Great Video also!
Bought a V in the 80s with a plywood body. Nowadays you get a lot more bang for your buck
The Nancy Wilson guitar is similar to the Night Hawk. Yup, it's a reskinned nighthawk probably with some coil splits and cool features. Not sure but I'm very aware of the body style. It's a Nighthawk.
I picked up a MKH epiphone back in 2018 and I love it to bits. The MHK Snofall was available at that time too, but I went with the more low profile black MKH. I decided against it because I already have an obvious signature guitar with the Schecter ZV Mirror. But I do sometimes wonder if I should have gotten the Snofall instead.
Just picked up a 1959 lemon burst.. seems pretty nice
There was a epiphone starter kit, I believe it was called something '' pro-1 explorer performance pack'' that came with a single humbucker Explorer with a flying V headstock and in my opinion I thing the guitar looks great, they should make them again or a higher end version.
Did you cover any Studio? What are they like?
22:56 i didnt know epiphone make nighthawk , such cool guitar.
Played a hand full but my favorite is my ‘99 classic vintage sunburst quilt top I’ve never seen another one in amber I put Jonsey Blues 550k pots PIO Mojo caps Seth Lover pafs And switchcraft selector and jack Also I drilled the bridge pins out and set stainless 6mm bolts almost all the way though the body to hold the bridge This thing sustains forever but…I had a 1994 Gibson LP standard loved it the most but lost it in a fire
I have the final version of the Iommi Custom SG, the Brent Hinds V, and thr new Prophecy LP. They all play spectacularly, but my Iommi plays the best. I got them all for sub $800 new too. But now that Epi has cranked out the quality, I expect that their top tier guitars (especially signatures) will list for over $1000,
Would’ve loved to see the phant o matic on here, the elitist pickups in it were great
