A special appreciation for the fact that Simone was 12 weeks pregnant during this 21 song concert. Also a shout out to the drummer and the poor people who had to mix this sound. They did a perfect job, by the way.

Simone wasn't heavely "Dutch Windmilling" as Floor did because she was a few months pregnant at the time. Beyond just the amazing performance, you can really see that Simone & Floor are good friends. Their interplay on stage is really heartwarming. GREAT JOB!

These two old friends are almost impossible to macth - they are incredible powerful and versatile. They have made different duets like this one, and also Floor's own 'Sweet Curse' - a song she has done also with Henk Port and Russel Allen. Super reaction from you 👍 🤘 🤘

They were celebrating the anniversary of one of their albums. Why they had a full orchestra. Simone was 3-4 months pregnant at this time and was already singing for a couple hours by this point. 🤘

Epica is another genius band, and is led by Floor's former bandmate from After Forever, Mark Jansen (no relation). Doesn't hurt that Simone are ridiculously close friends. They share the spotlight, frequently pointing it on the other. Just another example of the power of love!! Completely loved your delight, it is highly contagious. Hope they never find a vaccine!

There's 2 other Dutch Goddesses that can sing like angels, Davina Michelle and Maria Fiselier. Davina is a pop singer and Maria is an Opera singer. They were both on Beste Zangers 2018, the year before Floor. Maria does a cover of Eminem's Lose Yourself and then later in the show sings il mondo, an Italian Opera song, simply amazing. Davina was doing covers here on YT and did a cover of Pink's song What About Us and Pink watched it and was blown away. After that Davina's YT channel blew up (2017) and then she was invited on Beste Zangers 2018.

Even when they are very young. Listen to the Dutch now 18 year old world famous stunning classical super soprano Amira Willighagen. Such a UNIQUE VOCALIST.

Excellent reaction! If you wonder why Floor just enters the stage without being introduced to the crowd (not that most Epicans need to be introduced to her but still). It's simply because Sancta Terra was already part of the first encore section of this concert and she already did Stabat Mater Dolorosa with Simone during the main setlist. Definitely worth watching just as is Chasing the Dragon from the same show.

I was at the Hellfest this year and i saw Epica and 1 hour later it was Nightwish on the same stage. it was heaven!!

Yes - this is a mind-blowing performance that has it ALL. Epic vocals, instrumentals, lights .. pretty much everything you could possibly want from a performance. You said it - perfection! Nightwish introduced me to Symphonic Metal, but Epica is by far my favorite Symphonic Metal band. Their songs are all amazing, and traverse the entire gamut of emotion and soundscape. I hope you get to check out some more from Epica, but I'll be watching either way! If you want some great songs from Epica, anything they've released from their pandemic live performances called Omega Alive are on a whole 'nother level. They did a masterclass on 'live' performance during the pandemic and used the opportunity to make something truly special.

This song was written by Simone and is about a suicide attacker who thinks he goes to heaven, instead he goes to hell, but he is happy there because that is where he belongs!

We have been blessed at this time with some incredible female vocalists in metal bands. Not just Nightwish and Epica but right across the genre. The talent needs to be there but the sheer amount of hard work to stay on top of their game like this deserves a shout out. Also from all of the interviews I have watched from these talented women, not one of them comes across as a 'Diva'. They all seem to be totally down to earth decent people.

Awesome Reaction! The reason for the Orchestra on this song is because Epica was celebrating 10 years as a band. They don't normally have the Orchestra. If you want to hear Floor sing a beautiful song without the Nightwish band, listen to the Nightwish song "How's the Heart." They made a video for the song, but then Troy and Floor did an acoustic version. Floor's voice is even more amazing when she's just with an acoustic guitar. The man you hear shouting Floor's name at the end is one of the founders of Epica, Mark Jansen (no relation). He also helped start a band in the early days called After Forever with none other than Floor Jansen. And since Floor and Simone have been friends for a long time, you can see how interconnected they really are. When they're together, it's next level!

Loving everything you're putting out, especially Nightwish and Floor. People in previous comments have recommended -'Stabat Mater Dolorosa' another duet between these 2 lovely ladies from the same concert - it's a classical piece by Pergolesi who was unfortunately dying at the time he wrote it getting on for 300 years ago - an absolutely beautiful number, you can feel the pain too! Sung perfectly of course and I loved the fact that a metal crowd listened in perfect silence. I know you're always looking for band suggestions - all I tend to listen to now is purely female led! From Japan an all girl band called 'Lovebites', A massive Japanese band called 'Babymetal' who are greatly misunderstood by a lot of metal purists - tough on copyright though but there are ways around it. Two bands I'm going to see in London in a couple of weeks called 'Amaranthe' from Sweden and 'Beyond the Black' from Germany both with Female lead singers. You've already done Unleash the Archers haven't you if I remember rightly? As I said last time, I haven't steered you wrong yet 😆 Take good care of yourself 😃

For some reason, this performance reminded me of Floor and Tarja singing Over The Hills And Far Away, and the lack of... Synchronization between them, the two were totally separated, each one singing on their own, here you can easily see the tremendous synchronization and chemistry that Floor has with Simone

Aside from the list you might want to check out After forever and Revamp (Floors old bands) plus her newer stuff, covers from when we were in lockdown (on Floors YT channel), Beste Zangers 2019 and Ayreon (another amazing rabbit hole). Oh and a couple of documetaries, Please learn the set list in 48 hours and Floor Jansen in Dutch show Reunion (Tampere 2015) (Class Reunion). It’s great to see you loving these new bands. I would like to also recommend you check out Within Temptation. Lead singer Sharon den Adel is another powerhouse singer. For me, Nightwish, Epica, and Within Temptation is my holy trinity of symphonic metal. They are all under the same genre, but sound completely different and unique to themselves. Enjoy!

Search for a lyric video uploaded by "Rock". 🙂Simone said back in 2012 that this was her most favourite song to sing, because she shows all her vocal abilities in it. Besides that, it has a great melody and lyrics. Simone's soprano in chorus parts is absolutely gorgeous.
