When you know who/what Kindred is, and realize they appear at the end of each section, this becomes maybe the best cinematic Riot has ever made.

I play league for 8 years and watched every single cinematic they've done including the cinematics for wild rift and LOR and arcane, but this cinematic hit like nothing else.. I cried when watching it the first time

The breakdown: First we see a wounded Tryndamere, surrounded. He thinks he sees a figure in the distance as his enemies close ranks around him. Then, the past: Kayle and Morgana, demi-angels, each wield one half of their angelic Mother's sword in defense of ancient Demacia, under siege by Aatrox, the Darkin. Morgana taps into dark magic in a desperation move, Kayle smites Aatrox with the unified halves of the sword and in the flames, you see the silhouette of Lamb, one half of Kindred. Aatrox dies, but isn't gone. He lives through his sword, and it remains. Next, the future: masked men ransacking a burning village, old man Yasuo draws a line in the sand. You can feel how tired he is in every movement, no matter how fluid. As he dispatches the bandit leader, he looks up into the rain of arrows coming down on him and closes his eyes in acceptance. Lamb's arrow flies out from among the many, while Wolf's (the other half of Kindred) face looks out from the treeline. Back to the present: We watch as Tryndamere desperately tries to fend off Wolf, with the occasional arrow from Lamb. This battle is metaphorical; Tryndamere's Ult prevents him from dying for a short amount of time, in lore he literally becomes unkillable by tapping into blood magic. If you haven't picked up on it, Kindred (Lamb and Wolf) is the personification of Death in the LoL universe. Tryndamere is refusing to die, staying alive long enough for Ashe (his wife) to find him and kill his last two assailants before they can finish him off. Lamb lowers her bow, as if to say "Very well; not today." But Death is still here, waiting.

Kindred represents the twin essences of death. To elaborate on that. These are in different timelines, Aatrox vs Kayle and Moragana was in the past. Kayle and Morgana who are sisters and inherited power from their mom being the aspect of justice. Her mother split her sword in two and passed it down to them passing down her power. To keep it short Morgana was never about being the aspect of justice her putting her sword down resembles that. She let that go and Kayle who always looked to to her mom took her sword in her behalf. Morgana is a mage but is from Demacia where mages arent allowed. Aatrox is a darkin which are Immortal villainous race of fallen god-warriors imprisoned in sentient weapons. This scene is when Morgana and Kayle sealed him. You can see Kindred in the flame by the way if you play it frame by frame but Kindred cant claim Aatrox soul due to him being immortal. Yasuo's scene was a Vision given to him of a potential future of his death. Yasuo became a wanderer after being banned from his homeland for a murder he didnt commit. He's neither good or bad in my opinion but it looks like he was done with his ways of killing and using his wind power that was pretty much frowned upon. He realized he had no choice but to use his power but refused to kill. as you can see he was not hitting anyone directly with the sword and was just knocking them out. He sees the hail of arrows and pushes the enemy leader out of the way and embraces his death which is portrayed by the eyes of of kindreds wolf under the hail of arrows. Kindreds Arrow was shot claiming his soul. Tryndameres and Ashe are husband and wife. Tryndamere Ultimate in game is "Undying Rage" grants him immortality. He received this after getting stabbed by Aatrox and the same dark blood magic that turned Dakin into what they are got into Tryndamere granting him Immortality. You can see Tryndamere in the brink of death and Kindred about to claim his soul. But Tryndamere fights back. In reality Tryndamere is fighting off the enemies around him but the fight with Kindred is representing the battle with death. (You can see that after the fight the guys surrounding him were down and ashe finishes off the remaining two). As he fights back against Kindred you can see kindred tilts her head in confusion on why hes not dying basically. After realizing either that he cant die or is not going too, Kindred fades away as ashe comes in with the last two kills. Hope it give some perspective.

Mostly correct except about the disappointed look from Kayle. The 2 sisters as you say are aspects of justice and therefore are worshipped (sorta) by Demacians as protectors. They both use their powers or "magic" but are not considered mages as they are more like deities. The disappointed look from Kayle is due to Morgana abandoning their mother's legacy and sword.

The two beings that barbarian guy is fighting at the end is known as "Kindred". Kindred is two beings, the lamb and the wolf. Long story short, they are League's version of the grim reaper. He literally fighting death itself at the end.

4:08 Actually Riot did start making singleplayer story games a while ago. They're on PC and all consoles under the Riot Forge publishing label. They already have 4 action adventure games and 1 of them is 3rd person though that one is more adventure than action but it's still a really good game. It's called Song of Nunu. 2 of them are real action adventure games but one of them is 2D where you play as Ekko from Arcane (Convergence) and the other one is top-down style like League (The Mageseeker). The remaining one is called Ruined King and it's a turn-based RPG. There's a 5th one but that's a rhythm game. You might like it tho since you're all about music and such. It's called Hextech Mayhem (Heimerdinger from Arcane is in it!). And there's another game coming soon which is a chill farm-sim type game like Animal Crossing + Stardew Valley (Bandle Tale). EDIT: And as others have mentioned there is the League MMO coming soon which will be the ultimate 3rd person action adventure League game that you desire but it's still far away into the future and it will take years for it to even be shown to us for the first time.

So dope to see you react to this. As a big LoL fan, I loved this. If you understood the lore/characters, you would know how epic it is to see them in cinematics. As a big Kayle, Morgana (first two females), and Ashe player (last lady with bow) I couldn’t have been more happy.

If you find the time, check out some of the lore of this world. This cinematic is very lore-heavy, and resonates even harder with those who know more lore. Each champion has a short paragraph summarizing who they are on their website. the "im still here" isnt about us or the champs still here its about death (kindred) is "still here". its a kindred quote that starts the cinematic. kindred is in each scene (in the fire when aatrox gets burned, the wolf IS the shadow during that last volley and its kindreds arrow you see at the end and its kindred tryndamere is fighting) also the future is a possible future she told yasuo about his end. yea this is a heavy lore video for those who know and those that dont its just some cool fighting.

Just some interesting facts, Yasou is NOT killing anyone in his sequence as he stopped using his Wind technique as it only brought pain in the past. Why, just before he picks up the foot soldiers sword, if you look closely, his facial expression is that along the lines of "No.... I dont want to, but I have to", basically he 'sighed' with its instant remorse he feels for having to fight and once again, use this technique. This is why no one dies and even the 'boss', he pushes away with this his stacked Tempest to save him from the barrage of arrows. Lastly, the arrow that comes, this is in fact two things, it's an archers' arrow that is manifested as Lamb's arrow, indicating Yasou is done fighting and accepts his death (why he doesn't Windwall again) and thats why the Wolf eyes remain in the treeline. The other meaning is that Lamb's arrow has no arrowhead etc, whereas this arrow, is clearly Ashe's arrow which leads into the next scene. If you look closely as the arrow comes in, and just before the snowflake comes towards us, you see a circular burst outward, so this is also an indicator on how Ashe found Trynd, thus her arriving at the end to 'save' him by changing his fate and therefore Death disappearing as she enters the shot. Also, if you noticed, Lamb fires two arrows only at him. This is Lamb's way of offering a peaceful end for Trynd who obviously won't accept fate and thus fights the Wolf. Only reason this ended is because he was no longer on deaths door thanks to his wife firing her two arrows into the soldiers behind him, breaking this 'hallucination' he was fighting but in fact, was fighting the foot soldiers (same manifestation as the arrow that killed Yasou). The fact Trynd fights Death every time he is almost dead or about to die from a situation he is in, just adds how badass he is! That fight would go on forever (if he were allowed endless Undying Rage like Kindred is using an endless Resprite - her ultimate, depicted as the dark, blue toned atmosphere overlay that Trynd finds himself fighting in until Ashe breaks this 'illusion') Best cinematic ever! And so many minor details that add so much volume!

Can we get a letsplay of Scru playing Song of Nunu? I think he'd be confused at start but love it in the long term.

well short thing valkries are norse mythology - women chosen by Odin to serve in valhalla basicly divine barmaidens even though they technicly are servants of Freya and party in valhalla but they also choose the worthy fallen warriors on the battlefield, in mythology they dont actually fight, in pop culture they are basicly shieldmaidens depicted with a halo, rarely wings. they usually use spear and shield which was standard for norse warriors are "women friendly" weapons and the spear being odins weapon of choice. Warrior angels are christian mythology and called Seraphim like Archangel Michael Accidentally however you are somewhat right in LoL Lore as Morgana and Kale are daughters of the god of justice and the godess of mercy which kinda makes them divine / angel like

LoL cinematics go hard every time

The lore of the cinematic: In first scene we see Kayle and Morgana, they are fighting side by side both having their powers, when both of them are pushed to their limits Morgana gives away her powers as aspect of justice and binds Aatrox even if for a moment, then we can see Kayle taking Morgana powers representing her taking Morgana's sword and looking at her sister with disgust, when Morgana falls to the ground Kayle ascends and kills the host of Aatrox, we can see lamb in the flames showing his death. In the second scene we see bandits raiding ionian village and yasuo as old man standing his ground, each time he uses his power bondages on his arm unravel and at the end we can see his acceptance and kindred's arrow ending his life, we can see wolf in the shadows right before arrow falls. In the last scene we see Tryndamere fighting against a group of enemies, it is represented as him fighting kindred both wolf and lamb refusing to die, his red eyes represent his ability to become immortal for short period of time, in the final scene we can see kindred lowering her bow when ashe saves him from last enemies just in the moment he is about to die, seeing that its not the time to claim tryndamere, kindred disappears.
