Oh, that's the car Stirling Moss is supposed to drive before his career-ending accident in 1962. One of the drivers of that car in the race is, guess who, Stirling Moss himself.

What an amazing race this must have been!!

If you read the title, this is the start of the 1999 race at Goodwood, we didnt have HD 1440p quality back then. I like the old, nostalgic quality, it adds to the vibe of the old school racing.

@@GS300Aaron Thanks for pointing that out Aaron. I really shouldn't watch these on my mobile without my reading glasses. I will be there on Sunday so hopefully the quality will be 4k.

Interesting how all those GTOs have been consigned to collections. This class is now all Cobras/E-Types. And even those E-Types have been modified to the point that they're much faster than they were in period.

Shame. Very few owners of the 250 GTOs were still brave and nice enough to race their cars nowadays. The rest of the cars, were victims of their own beauty, and worryingly, value...

And yes, you're correct about the cars getting much faster. They lap at 1:31s back then, now they were6-7 seconds faster...

A Ford GT40 would have been cool to see racing with those supercars.

This is a GT car race for a specific era, the GT40 would not be in the same class, it's a later and much faster car.
