There were places you went I didn’t even knew, and I am portuguese and was born in lisbon!!!! Well done!!!!
Lisbon is such a gorgeous city, the color of the stones, the tiled walls, the cobbled streets and the gorgeous architecture. The amazing foodie finds just put it over the top. Although, to be honest, you had me at panquecas Nicolau. Yum!

My man, you literally went to MOST of the best restaurants in Lisbon. I’ve hit almost all of them, but 1 Resturant a day is all I can do. Kudos to you! BTW Manteigaria is WAY better than Belem.

He didn't go to the most expensive restaurants, not one he's gone to is in the top 5 more expensive. And Manteigaria is not better than Belem, i mean its your opinion but for probably 80% of the people it isn't.

Great video Max. The piri piri chicken is something I must try in Lisbon. BTW, you're supposed to use the sharp end of the straw to pierce through the plastic of the bubble tea cup.

Eat genuine Portuguese food and avoid tourists trap..very first place...ultra Instagramable place called Nicolau to eat pancakes with mascarpone, yeah really authentic Portuguese food, I am sure the place was full of portugueses who go there every morning and spend 18€ on breakfast...Humm avoiding tourist traps in Lisbon like a pro

Hello!! Next time you have to try iscas de cebolada, dobrada, feijoada ( there are so many tipes of them), moelas , amêijoas à bulhão pato and many more. In the end we have sure you will return many times more to eat all .
Timeout Market is actually the biggest tourist trap in Lisbon

Great presentation, thank you so much. My wife and I are vegan and we find Lisbon to be vegan heaven. You might want to do a food special on vegan restaurants. If you were interested, I have a whole list of the ones that I have gone to, including ortea, vegan 26, Chiado. I will help you through this one if you want.
Never ate these ice creams ,Now I want to buy it
Do any Portuguese people think Manteigaria is better than Pasteis do Belem? I ask bc I don’t know any that do. I find myself that Belem is way better, but wonder if perhaps that is bc I always eat them fresh out of the oven and maybe manteigaria holds up better once it’s cooled down? Idk 🤷🏽♀️. Also found it rich to say “help you avoid tourist traps” and the go to time out market, which for me is the biggest tourist trap in all of Lisboa. 😂. Either way Portugal is a foodie paradise. There is amazing food to be had in every region.

Sorry, but the best Pastel de nata in Lisbon is in Belém, we call it pastel de Belém. Too bad you didn't try those, they are amazing!🤤

Maybe not, I've seen many videos of portugueses and foreigners, some prefer the pastéis from manteigaria.. Meaning they must be good even better than the pastéis de Belém.
@ninamoreira5745

@@SERGIO-cr6uy the original recipe from pastéis de Belém is definitely the best. Those from Manteigaria are far behind! I can tell you, born and raised in Lisboa!!!
@SERGIO-cr6uy

@@ninamoreira5745 being the original recipe doesn't mean they are best. I am not saying they aren't, I said that according to some videos, some prefer Mantegaria. You can play a blind taste, get two pastéis, one from both places, blindfold yourself and eat them, then you'll have your answer. Sometimes we are lured into the taste of a product just because of its name. I learn that few years ago when my aunt inverted labels.. She made her point.

HAS a portuguese guy that visited some countrys and lives in france i feel like we just need to do better sauces and better fries! the other food we have its delicious!
great video, however, if you loose that tourist hat, that tourist shirt, that tourist smile, get yourself a portuguese friend, you will eat all those things, at the right price, 2x, 3x, 4x cheaper, and tasty as hell, 16 euros for a tiny tiny tiny sample size peri peri chicken??? really?, that should be free!, I can get you a whole chicken with a generous portion of french fries and a nice homemade house wine for 6 euros!

Tell us where! We’re traveling in June 😊
Pancakes, very portuguese breakfeast indeed, like granola, really? Timeout Market, a trap for tourists... The best bifana is the Beira Gare near the Rossio train station Ginginha oh yes! Bonjardim the best chicken in Lisboa Asian food? Very tipical... Sardines, in the months withour R in the name, May to August Santini is the best ice cream in Lisboa Eating chamuças with fork??????? Pasteis de Nata is soooooo good, like a pudin in a custer tart Where is the bacalhau?
You came to Portugal to eat pancakes and granola?
And yes, I must agree with other native portuguese comments you did not avoid the tourists traps at all you didn't even tried the "tascas". And the bubble tea it is definitely not a traditional food from Portugal! But ok for a first tour in Lisbon! :)
Do you live in Portugal?
Bubbletea, how portugese is that?
Seems too much waste of food, unless you're with someone that never appears in the video. Otherwise, have a great time in Portugal!
We have a very ancient history, so the influences go way way back in the past. Lisbon is considered a city since the XII century BEFORE Christ. So 3200 years...
Nothing better than start the day whit an american breakfast (pancakes and granola), theres nothing portuguese in that besides the location. Buble waffles????? Really ??? You couldn't find a portuguese desert ?? theres tousands. Rhight there at the "Bonjardim" they have a good "Arroz doce".
Basically you just visited Lisbon to eat 😅😅😅😅
Not really. Those are tourist traps and only a minimal and unrealistic representation of the food scene in Lisbon.
