I would say 6k .. and a 9 or 10 foot med heavy rod . Pen has great rods for s great price .. the prevail is great for the jetties

Daiwa bg 5k ..however they do not make them no more, they are now made as the bg mq.. the spool size is way smaller now. You can find bgs online still, but it's a discontinued reel
