A truck is built to be ran, and to be used, not to be sitting and collecting dust. You did the right thing.
“I’ll have to cook less there will be more food in the house” that’s one good line great on liner warden
Well that was quick! It's good to see Some Day going back to her original owner. She's going into good hands once again where she'll be back running before we know it.
How cool that you let Someday go home! Seeing Troy starting her reminds me of my Dad letting me pull the truck forward and backwards loading grain that lead to my trucking career! Can't wait to see Troy move First Class with his Dad!
Bittersweet moments for sure, but great to see Someday going home where she will be cared for and you know where it will be. Now get out of the house and let the door hit you on the way. Sarah is just too funny. Stay safe and God bless.
Good to see the ol girl going back home... At least she is not too far away and you can visit her off and on
Congrats on the sale of your old truck. Hopefully the new owner will get another million miles out of it.
Still in the family 👪 ❤️
Some Day she will return home.😊
Someday, we all get to go home.
Its good that she's not just sitting anymore Buddy. Good job! Todd the retired trucker.
I remember many times you had your white type paint pin that you painted the letters on all those tires.
"Some day" will not be to far away, so you can still see it. Glad it is still in the family. .
Amazing as always. God bless you and God bless America.
Good to see the warden and kids again!
I gotta say the freightliner is a good looking ride and like ya said it's going home you'll still be able to be around it and it won't cost ya Kurt, put yer money in first class fixing it up.🤙🇺🇸🇺🇸🤙
That's all we had were the big cam Cummins and such. Great motors. Good truck. Had cabovers, my grandpa.
Rust never sleeps Kurt. Let it roll, let it roll. Carry on.
Going Home and still in the Family!! Nice job and Good to the Family!!!
You're all good folks.....
Those big cam formula last for ever
Nice old truck, Kurt. Glad it's going home to get worked again. BTW, yes, you should put 'The Lady' on 'First Class'. She deserves a little bling.
100% put it on first class ! 👏
Stay safe
I love that bell on those older trucks my father had a A-Model that had one and he would always say class is in session lol
well the other truck was just sittin there it went to a good home sounds like a win to me
Back when a Freightliner was built to last compared to the plastic junk.
l was howling my ass off when you said to BUD ..WHERE YOU GOIN NOW.....sounds like me when someone helps me at home....Great video man old truck looks 👍..
Spent many hours in the 80s FLCs, nose just like that one. That's good it's in the fam
Congratulations on the sale. It went to the right place!
That's a nice freightliner very Clean!
Glad the old girl went back to her old home. Going to miss seeing her sitting beside 1st class. Some day was a beautiful truck. Glad 1st class is fix n ur getting her back stay safe n see ya next time
I know how hard it is to let go of an old truck. My first was a B model Mack. It is was not pretty but was a heck of a stout old truck. It is good that it went back home. Good to see the family gathered in to say goodbye. Now back to trucking. Be safe and havagudun friend.
Thankyou for yet another great video. Looks like Some Day has gone to a good home. I retired from a career in law enforcement and only recently started driving truck full time after getting my Class 1 licence 12 years ago. I'm driving an 03 Freightliner FLD with DD 60 series and 18 speed hauling reefers and dry vans. I have never been so happy in my life as when behind the wheel of that old Freightliner. Keep the great videos coming and know that we really appreciate your videos and positive attitude towards life!!! Ps, you have a great family as well. A definite reflection of where you came from and who you are.....
Oh yeah, put the Lady on First Class!!!
Kurt selling the Freightliner is a good thing. She went home to live and breathe again. The truck will have new life. Also with First Class down. Remember the good quality family time that you are blessed with. I am sure you will reflect on the quality family time very soon when you return to the Trucking world. Take care and be safe.
Troy looks at home in the driver's seat. Do you think he'll follow you into the trucking business, Kurt? Just imagine a Schmidt family convoy. Stay safe!
Good to see all the family. Some day looks like it's going to a good home. Safe travels be safe
Bittersweet for sure. But you said it both before and afterwards…it was time. She was and is a cool looking truck! Stay safe!!
Love the old trucks! I put 500,000 on an 89 Freightliner in the 90s lol
Its crazy how as truck drivers we dont know how ours trucks look like going down the road. Of course other people see them but it’s different when we see them through our eyes how good the actually look
Love the family vibe on this channel! Also thats a cool ass rig
Is Jack's limping
I wish I kept my old Freight Shaker. It was a 84 with a 425 cat in it 13 speed.
The only thing I wish I never sold was my first car a 1970 duster slant six, great video keep up the good work God bless from GA and stay safe
Letting an OLD Friend go is tough. I've been there. I've done that. Always a sad tough day.
at least its still in the family
Someday is an absolute classic! Looking for something in that era to use on our farm. Glad you it went to the right home....would loved to be the new owner.
Very sad for you I'm sure as there must be a lot of memories with that truck. I'm facing a similar dilemma with my late Fathers' car. Its sat outside in the rain having been garaged by him for 22 years. It needs to move on - you are very fortunate that its gone back home
I have never regretted getting rid of an old vehicle. I'm usually too happy with my new vehicle to even think about the old one. Same with girlfriends. lol
As with farmers owning land, this is ownership not true. One only has possession during man lifespan because ownership belongs to our creator. One has to live and let go.
Have a good one bud.
You did good, Kurt. Don't second guess it. Couldn't have done it any better.
It does look amazing going down the road
Wow.. That's Awesome It's Goin back to to its original Owner....Way to Coool .... ❤️ Heart-Smiles ❤️
Its sad to see some day go but she is going to a good home pretty awesome thing come full circle have a great day be safe.
congrats the truck is going to the right place
That was hard, wasn't it? Yup, I could see/feel it. I would have trouble too... Hell, I almost teared up myself, over YOUR FreightShaker! I drove one very similar (never knew what year it was, just keep it full of oil and keep the brakes adjusted and don't forget to grease the driveline because ALL loads were pretty much full legal limit)... Your Some Day is a pretty lady, and it WILL be working again instead of sitting in your driveway. Good decision. Hard, but Good.
Glad everything worked out well with Someday ❤ She's a beautiful truck 🚚
Not going to lie; I was hoping whoever was going to buy it from the previous video would back out because I was going to reach out and try and pick her up. Glad she's going back home (kinda)
Kurt yep,you have to put the "GIRL"on first class,..as always see you next time, keep truckin up,whoop-whoop!!
Atleast someday is still close to home Kurt hope to still see videos of her but glad to see she is still going to be running
Nice video and nice end lol
I'm glad to see y'all doing okay I've been in the hospital for the last 4 months I'm doing all right I'm glad to see Jack and Opie you know my boy and her mom doing God bless you all I'll talk to you later
When you said on Millie’s video that the Kenworth is “Done”, I thought you were saying that it was beyond repair. I am delighted that you are getting her back tomorrow!
Nice truck
A bitter sweet fair well.
I am so glad some day is going home. It would have been so much harder if she had gone to a stranger. and yes she does look great going down the highway. Take care brother.
She looks good sounds good going to a good home
Haha that doggy temper tantrum with the ball is funny 😄
Good on you Kurt a very wise decision made you all take good care of yourselves won't you Kurt
I bet it be something with new paint .
You really need to put the lady on the KW
Some Day would look right at home at this weekend's Bottomley Enterprise Mayberry Truck Show in Mt. Airy, NC. First Class would look good there also.
y'all stay in iaowa 175 detour is off 20 north of Ellsworth
its like saying goodbye 2 an old friend.i usually run my vehicles till theres nothing left.when they go they go 2 the junk man.i hate saying goodbye 2 something ive put many a mile on.
Watched thtwice truck looked nice going down the road. You have memories good times with Some Day😃
Really liked that old truck , wish I could had it , you can tell it 400 Cummins way it smoke when idle, I could have hauled grain around here , but guess just dream
Good job Kurt! It sure is hard to let go a truck you put a lot of miles in. I think it was time.
Creeping up on 40k subs Buddy
Old truckers never die they just get a new Peterbilt. Well it's your case a Freight Shaker
Hey I should have offered earlier, but im topeka bound, and your more than welcome to bounce around in this ol cab for a couple hours if you youd like the ride. 👍
Good job selling that truck it’s about time it was going to ruin just sitting there
It's funny how you get attached to those old truck's brother.I feel your pain.
If the Shaker had to be sold thats the best home for it.
Knew a guy here on youtube HighwayHank who had a '81 Kenworth Cabover No one would allow him to lease it to their company saying it was too old. hopefully your Cousin just plans to use Someday as a local gig hauler, otherwise they are gonna play heck trying to find someone to lease on to.
When we get rid of a vehicle we took pride in for so long, it does get emotional. Last year we traded my 2010 HD Heritage Stage ll bike in for a new 2021 Tri Glide, it bothered me for a couple of weeks. But now that we both love the Tri Glide, it is ok that someone else has my Heritage. That bike had NO after market parts at all and it was one pretty bike with plenty of Power.
Going to miss seeing your Freightliner is one cool truck but so is your kw
Man I know how you feel , it is like a band around your heart ..
I see why you married Mrs W. 💓 . Some Day 😢🥲. Once you said that you were going to sale Some Day you knew someone was going to buy her. She looked good going down that road. At least you still have memories Mr SCHIMDT. B SAFE 🚛
The semi Some Day looked great going down the road 😊 but you said that you don’t have a picture of yourself driving it, we thought that you took video of you and her in the parade?? Hope Buds ankle is okay, did he hurt it playing football 🏈 hi 👋 family it’s great seeing everyone, I also hope that dad can get his special food taking you all to first class… 😊👋🦮🐕🦺🛻
I can`t believe they made it home without a ticket (no plate)
Kurt if you are considering buying a trailer I can point you to a good used reefer. 2018, Utility or Great Dane, Thermo King or Carrier
Soon as I seen the Dodge pickup I yelled Uber dad. Lol
Does he run grain? I’m excited to see it on the road. Hope the guy puts a good radio in her.
Telling a child not to get greasy while working on a truck is BAD ADVICE Kurt!!
I see how u talk about that truck an the look on ur face that it really hurt you to let it go. Like u said you'll still be able to see it on to the next
🙏🙏
Sharp Freightliner..
see u tomrrow are u doing a vlog tommrow Kurt
