I'm the guy they are talking about who had the tube problem and Dave's customer service is absolutely the best. There's a lot of companies out there who look for ways to weasel out of warranty issues - Friedman goes WAY above and beyond on his stuff.

Great show!!! On the first BLS album, when Steve was using 5150 amps, I thought it still sounded very much like his Marshall tone. Steve’s rad!!!!

This was really excellent!!! I went to a Billy Idol concert back in 1985 and after the concert I was approached by one of the roadies asking if I wanted to go back stage and party with the band - I, of course, said 'yes' - then he asked me my age and I told him '15'...he just turned and walked away...hehehehe!!! 💗💗💗

Steve Stevens had the ultimate palm tree hair in the 1980's. It was almost a caricature of that kind of hair. You couldn't possibly pile hair any higher and make it any bigger than that guy. He even outdid Nikki Sixx's palm tree.

As always, really enjoyed listening, been a fan since the first show. I was at the London show Steve was talking about, holy crap was that a monster of a guitar sound, the Knaggs and the Friedman guitars were just sounding huge, cool to hear the first time he played through it was when he went on stage. Really enjoy hearing all these cool insider stories I'll give you a few ideas for guests, Paul Rivera Snr, Steve Farris, Steve Lukather, Cliff Chase, Floyd Rose and Bob Bradshaw Looking forward to the next show guys, keep it up!

I like SUSTAIN not GAIN :) I don't want my signal all saturated and fizzy and compressed but i do want the chords and notes to sing. "Somebody get me a doctor" intro is what i am talking about. after Ed hits the D chord in that tune's beginning you can hear it start to sustain Most think distortion is the answer so they buy a 5153 and go yeah man this is bitchin but i prefer the old Marshall on 10 tone like on VH I and VH II The opening A chord to Eruption nails the tone for me.

Funny mentioning that building on 30th street. I used to park there in early to mid 90s when I worked down the street. I lost so many mirrors on that street. There was always music coming out of that building. I was playing mostly in the Bronx and lower Westchester during those days.

About Eddie's tone nowadays, here's what Dave Friedman really wanted to say: It's way too gainy and buzzy with no dynamics at all ! Eddie 's gear and setup today is just the opposite of what it was in the early days, the Brown sound we all love. All that's left is his magic fingers, but he's not playing to his full potential with his current rig and setup.

Didier ROEGIERS yes!!!!I think he's hinted at it but he won't come out and say it. Eddie needs a Friedman amp because that is the brown sound!!!!!

Marc, sure...we can geek out and talk gear. Guitar Center, Sam Ash are a stones throw away from RNR if you want to go play gear. Not sure if this would be fun for a lefty though. I'm lefty too but play right of course. Next time you're up in this area send me an email so we can exchange numbers, Joe. jamcavestudio@gmail.com

Higher action gives more articulation. It's not for everybody. Low action can give you speed. I use slinky hybrid 9-10 and dunlop heavy picks. Find what works and doesn't work for you. Learn your gear. A432 Eb for me.

I love you Steve, and I understand that its better record real instruments in a real recording studio, but don't forget that Tom Scholz recorded that first amazing Boston album at home and it's become one of the standards by which other rock albums are measured.

It’s probably not insane or anything, but Steve probably likes to fight it. I’m the same way. My action has to be high enough for me to fight the guitar to get what I want out of it while still being playable.
