It’s 7am here in Melbourne Australia and I woke to get the latest report on Hurricane Dorian, and it sounds like it’s not good for the Bahamas. My heart sunk! I have been following your wonderful adventures as you live my dream for me! I hope SVHT is safe and sound in the marina and I will be anxiously waiting for an update from you. You have a lot of people that are hoping and praying for you right now.

Hi Alan, This is so nice. We have appreciated the outpouring of support and are really humbled by it. Our house appears to be just south of the main part of the storm so we should be okay. Happy Together is in Nassau and its currently seeing tropical storm force winds. We think it will be okay in that marina and we will fly back to investigate as soon as the storm passes. We wanted to be with the boat fo the storm but had to look out for our business, employees and family in Florida so had to put that first of course. Thanks again for your comment. Randy

watched the outfit vid and started to binge. I don't remember ever laughing so hard than when the better half said, "your mom saw it." I'm still chuckling. Def subscribed and I'll be watching the back catalog. What a great couple!

I am sure I speak for many of your followers. I lived in New Orleans during the Hurricane Katrina years. Storms were a part of my job. I trust SV Happy Together was moved as out of harm's way as possible and that she, you and your family have prepared and are safe for whatever Dorian may do. Now I am thinking about those affected in the Bahamas and all those along the southern US Coastline. It will be a long and nerve-wracking week for many.

HI Scott, Yes we moved HT to Atlantis Marina in Nassau on Tuesday and we are hunkered down at home and prepared. We have friends in the Abacos and the news is starting to emerge and its pretty awful. I have been living through hurricanes for 36 years and this one is the slowest most agonizing I remember and I hope it stay offshore. Thanks for your comment. Randy

@Randy: hahaha I was a child of the 70s. We grew up doing what were basically "YOUR MOTHER" jokes. We called them "YO' MAMA" jokes!! "Yo mama was so ugly, she wasn't allowed out after dark without the zoo keeper, or someone would call animal control!!" It was the big thing, to think up the funniest jokes about someone's mama! I know a guy that could think up the funniest things to say, and never say the same thing twice!! He was good at those YO MAMA jokes!! Ahhh, those were the good ole days!! Kids can't do that these days, they'd get shot or sued!!

hey guys, i love it just love it... what type of anchor do you have aboard HT and what type of anchor do you carry in the tender? would you consider carrying 2 anchors in the tender for when you need to have the bow facing out but there is a cross wind so you have one ashore? id love to hear back from you!

Hi Nicholas, So glad you are enjoying our show! We have a Rocna 121 lb anchor on HT with a Fortress FX35 as our spare. On the tender we have a lightweight aluminum Danforth style anchor and we have a system for anchoring and tying off to the beach. You will see it in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching. Randy

Hi Kim, Thanks so much and we are so glad you are enjoying our show! The best option is to keep your boat in the right place during hurricane season so that its not a problem. For most that isn't feasible so we watch the weather and decide where we think the storm isn't going and then find the best marina to be in during a Hurricane. Some people try to outrun a storm and that is dangerous. The best protection is the best marina (or haul out). We just flew into Marsh Harbour Bahamans 3 days ago and sailed Happy Together south to Atlantis Marina in Nassau because its a very protected marina. We knew the storm could hit Nassau and then come to Florida so we aimed for the best marina. Its looking like it was a good decision at this point. Marsh Harbour is going to be crushed! Randy

Hi Ted, Our boat is on the move constantly. We sailed our first cat from Florida to California and back. this one we sailed from Florida to the Caribbean and now will spend some times their (maybe 18 mos) and then to the Pacific. Thanks!! Randy

Hi Davheed284, So far we spent three weeks in The Bahamas and the boat has been great. No problems or even breakdowns of all the added equipment. Really good first shake down I would say. Going to add a small AC unit to the master stateroom so we can cool it without running the Chiller which cools the entire boat. Randy

Anybody hear if Randy and Lennie got out of the Bahamas with or without the boat or was this footage from a month ago?

HI Eric, This footage was a month ago but the boat is in Atlantis Marina for the storm. It was in Abaco and we flew in Monday night and sailed it Tuesday to Atlantis marina which ended up being a good decision. Thanks for thinking of us! Randy
