If you thought two episodes of nonsense inventions and head-scratcher gadgets were quite enough, Ben and Lauren respectfully challenge that with another twenty! Some are practical, some are peculiar, most are weird, and all are wonderful!
In their third episode of the sort, things get weirder without much warning.

Those shoo away things are amazing! I've pulled mine out of my gadget camp bag on two occasions so far, once at my brother's house over Easter when the flies were insane trying to eat our dinner. Also at a ladies camping trip when we were trying to keep the wasps off our food during happy hour. Brilliant invention, but mine is only a battery one, I'd like a usb rechargeable one at some stage!

I love seeing what comes up for these lists. Some very inventive minds out there. Solar ovens aren't a new idea, but that's the most techy one I've seen. As someone who's obsessed with food, I totally want to have a play. But that sea to summit utensil set looks good.

I can easily see myself with the quad table, I'm right for the afternoon. Also like the Sea to Summit stainless steel utensil set. The solar oven seems pretty cool.

I used the go sun at a festival that you camped at where you couldn't use open flame. I could boil water and cooked chicken and vegetables that I put in a wrap. I had the smallest one - but it has enough volume to cook and coffee for 1.

I would buy the desal and the water filter. The water sink is cool as well I had to go down to the creek many times to wash hands last camp so a little set up closer to the site would be more ideal.

Love your work folks, I have done a bit of research on solar ovens and the GoSun cooks the quickest and is the most efficient. Love the desalination pump, but the saw is masively out done by the Silky Bigboy Outback, check that beast out. Thanks SO.

Just a quick one, the Zempire atom has just arrived in the UK and was wondering how waterproof it was and what it was like in the wind with only having 2 guy out points.?? Cheers

You might actually be ok with wind, there are 6 peg points on the base of the tent, so that combined with the two guy ropes should keep you fairly stable - just make sure you're orienting the tent for the best aerodynamics. The waterhead ratings are Fly 5000mm | Floor 10000mm ~ Lauren

I got one of those camp stove toaster nearly 20yrs ago. I can't recall the brand now but it's a similar design to the one you showed in this video. And after using it a couple of times, I gave up on it. Just like Ben, I never got it to work correctly. And as for the solar camp over, they've been around for decades. I know a couple who are circumnavigating around the world on a sailboat and uses it to cook meals. It also acts as their back-up cooker should they run out of gas/propane while in the middle of the ocean. They come in different sizes. On theirs, they've baked damper/bread, cooked rice, fish, chicken, meats & veggies etc. But as Ben said, it needs good sunlight for it to work properly. It focuses all of the suns rays hitting its reflectors into the centre of the cylindrical chamber. Think of a magnifying glass burning a piece of paper. It works surprisingly well.

Would love to know the brand - I hadn't come across any solar ovens that looked super portable/practical until now. I reckon they're a great option ~ Lauren

There are heaps of things out of those that I’d get if budget wasn't a factor holding me back. For example, I was ||this|| close to buying that pocket sink thing a couple of years ago. It looks way cool, and super handy. I think the only reason I didn't at the time was because we were still camping in our Prius, and there just wasn't a place on the vehicle that would've been very suitable for it. The Kammock thing looks pretty cool (and I cracked up over Ben twitching over the use of 'k' instead of 'c'; I felt the same way 🤣), and I would dead set get that flat pack titanium wood stove. That thing is way cool. What a way to have a fire without smoking out yourselves or your neighbours! I'd also get the foldable camp saw and the PuriBag, too. Oh, and the Makita range is way cool!
