Hi, i stumbled by your page whilst doing a search of dearly departed Jill Gascoigne. I'd first like to say thank you taking to this platform to share your story. As a child i was a huge fan of Jill's and i had the immense pleasure to meet her on three occasions. She lived in Streatham London at the time and i did also. No, i was not a stalker or anything lol.. The first time i recall seing her was in WHSmith in Streatham high road, she was with Adam ( or Sean- sorry i always get them mixed up 😂). My sister and i were at the magazine section when we heard a distinctive voice behind us . I nearly had a heartache. What a chance of having your idol like within metres away. Anyways, it seemed as though she was complaining about a purchase she had made for her son. She was so diplomatic and so enduring. She did not cause a scene at all. I did not approach her given the circumstances - of course 😌 The second time i met her was when she appeared in a play called " Scrap of the black" at Stratford upon Avon theatre . She was ever so lovely and stopped to pose for a picture which i boasted to my friends of having met my idol . The last ever time i saw her , I had just finished watching a play which starred Jason Rose ( who was her ex) a few streets down in London and she had just finished her performance in 42nd street. Again she was delightful and posed for a picture with me . She had just passed her driving test a couple weeks before, i believe and drove her lovely grey Mini Metro to the theatre. That was the last time i saw her . She was such an incredible woman. Whenever i met her , she was always very charming, so very kind and gracious. As i got older and developed other interests , when i remember her it is always with a warmness in my heart. There is not many people like her , that truly embraced and loved life. I was shocked like everyone else when i heard the news of this evil disease called Alzheimer that chose to decend on such an angel as Jill. She had such an impenetrable beauty. Eyes that told a life times of stories with so much passion and verger. Which of course Adam has the pleasure to inherit Id like to again extend my gratitude and my condolescenes to you all. We currently have re-runs of The Gentle Touch in the UK and it seems so unfair how it all ended .The fact that you can take solace that she has gone to a magical place , would also have been a tremedous relief for her too, as i am sure she would not have wanted you to continue to suffer in the way she had. I wish you the very best , SueTee x

@@checkininwithmypeeps My family still lives in Streatham and on my last visit ( a few months back) i came across a lot of the stuff i had growing up and funny enough i found a huge photo album filled with years of newspaper articles, pictures etc of Jill. I recieved a letter from her ( or it could have been her assistant at the time). It was way before the wonderful days of snail mail and the internet. It was roundabout the late 80s , i believe . With the letter , i attached a photograph in which i raised a glass to her success- i think i had a pineapple jumper on . It was the 80s, give me a break . Anything went then 😉. Anyways , I recieved a lovely letter of acknowledgement which was sweet. I dont think she will have still have the picture or whether it was sent back to me, but It was very touching to listen to Adam say that all the people she met had become aquaintances. I was not lucky enough to become one, but certainly felt like one in her presence.. It is unfortunate that her british fans cannot have an opportunity to pay their last respects, but i understand , given the circumstances and how difficult that would be If you have plans to write a book, hit me up and i would only be happy to send you what i have..Have a blessed thanksgiving x

There’s a question I’ve been asking myself, hope you can answer, when Jill did that stint with morecombe and wise, did she really do the backflips herself,I know she was really fit and danced and that, but would love to know as I have googled it and not found the answer, did she always do her own stunts in her tv shows, she was great, still can’t believe she has gone, also did she have any grandchildren, sorry about the questions but I would love to know. Thanks Take care and stay safe x
