Egyetértek. Manapság már nem készülnek ilyen sorozatok. Nagyon szeretem én is, James és Anne a kedvencem.

Such a shame that she is so ill [ end stage Alzheimers], bloody brilliant as Di Maggie Forbes in The Gentle Touch. She was up for a small role as Ronnie Mitchell's mother in BBC Eastenders, but she felt she didn't have the experience to do it. She had forgotten whom she was, Glynis Barber got the part.

I believe she was in the early stages of dementia when she agreed to come back to the UK and take the role in 'EastEnders' in 2009. That was a surprising decision, not least because she was so happily settled in LA with her husband, actor Alfred Molina since they relocated there in 1992. I think when she realised the workload involved in a multi episode TV soap, she realised she wasn't up to it - dementia is usually accompanied by memory loss so learning the scripts alone would likely have been a challenge. I'm sorry she went through the embarrassment of accepting the role then leaving it - but I'm glad she spent only one day on set and didn't make any appearances on screen. I think that would have been worse for her to leave after she had established the character. She was obviously a very courageous person - as her whole career showed. Many people don't know Jill was a single mother who had two sons in the 'sixties and raised them single handed after divorcing their father (who was estranged from them afterwards). That she became a star while raising two kids as a single parent is impressive. She also suffered from clinical depression her whole life, which she put down to her sad childhood at boarding school. Rest In Peace lovely lady, your work here is done - and you will live on through your wonderful performances, preserved on film.

Can anyone else remember Jill playing the part of a newsagent who seduces and takes the virginity of her newspaper boy,..it was an ITV Saturday night drama around 1973/4? What was the name of that play?
