Some people dive for a couple years and then get a new bcd, but then you realise how light weight and flexible it is compared to your old bcd

The Aqualung HD pro has knife attachment points and also has two counter balance pockets either side of the cylinder

I think that your reviews and advice is spot on. Therefore I would love a review of H.O.G equipment

When diving from a inflated rib, we need to take off weight belts, before we try to crawl aboard again. I can see that people with integrated weight pockets have a easier time, because the weight is in two pouches and is divided. If I bought a new BCD and got a type where you just open a pouch and let it fall out, I am afraid I would not be able to get my weights out and give to the boat captain, without accidentally dropping the on the sea bottom. Does anyone have experience with this?

Gravity assited weight pockets ARE THE BEST, i just did 25 dives with my startpro 2.0, and everyone took 10x longer than me to add or remove weights. AWESOME WEIGHT SYSTEM. NO POUCHES!!!!

Is there a difference in BCD’s for cold water vs warm water diving?

Not really, cold water divers tend to use steel tanks (I use 95s and 133s), so a bc with more lift isn't a bad idea

I have a friend who has 7 different BCD’s (from the Mares Rover to the HydrosPro) and a $20k camera rig. Hands down he says the Rover’s of the world are still the best BCD’s. (T-One, Wave). They’re so durable and failsafe that you’ll rarely actually need more unless you’re doing cave dives or suffer from lower back pain.

I'd say which BCD is best all depends on the type of diver you are and the environment you dive in. For example, I dive sidemount and use an xDeep Stealth Tec. Backmount divers will never use that BCD, it simply doesn't allow back mounting, but it's perfect for sidemount, both in rec as well as in caves. Also, how much someone can spend on their collection of BCDs and cameras doesn't really matter. It just means they have and can spend money. They may have tried more gear than other people, but still in their own niche. I've seen too many rich divers on liveaboard that had the best and newest gear but couldn't do a proper weight check or hold a stable trim. I'm not saying your friend is like that, just that the qualifications you mentioned don't instill more than average confidence in his advice.
