Enneagram Types in Therapy

Enneagram Types in Therapy
Let's set the record straight... it doesn't matter what enneagram type you are, you need therapy. Unless you're an eight - then you already know it all... and two's are too concerned about how the therapist is doing to make any progress...oh, and fours only like to paint a bigger mystery the therapist will never figure out... and threes just want to win therapy... Like we said, YOU ALL NEED THERAPY.
Check out your number, then call your therapist for an appointment. Thank us later.

As a 9 I can vouch for the accuracy of this portrayal. Deciding to go to therapy was the best decision ever and the hour was never long enough. My only regret has been not finding the therapist that I clicked with a decade earlier. I love knowing she is there if I need to return. My sister and closest friends are also privy to this side. Especially in private with some wine. It probably only took thirteen years for the friends to pry that door open. I’m glad they did and then proved I could trust them in the years since. Those that proved otherwise never ever get a hint of what’s behind that door as I smile gently and stand guard.

7s in therapy CAN sit still. But mostly we bemoan all the things we've started and never finished. Or we rattle off our plans for the future. In either case, an hour is hardly enough. And the action steps prescribed at the end of the session? Tough luck asking us to squeeze that into our 5,000-page to-do list. Love you, Leeann & Michelle! The 7 one also works for going to a funeral with one and trying to get them to talk about it🤦‍♀️ I’ve been to several with my brother now. The more I watch these, the more I find myself resonating with the 8, which makes me even more sure I'm a 5! That comment about admitting when I'm wrong but never actually being wrong I have uttered in many arguments. And I've even told men that if they aren't tough/dominant enough, I'll end up being tough on them and treating them like a sub, and I don't want to do that! haha But I guess I had to grow into these behaviors. I wasn't very assertive or confident as a kid. Btw, I always love the 4's dialog. Always so dramatically poetic and beautifully macabre. And it always has me busting up laughing in embarrassment. -- 5w4

As a 5, I need to know how you got into my sessions. I demand to know who you work-- What? That's normal? All right, I'll let it go this time.

I really am an enneagram 2 lmfaoooo everything is always spot on, I love it cause I both feel understood and less alone and you also make it fun and since I waste so much energy on making others happy, having something that makes me happy is very necessary cause being a people pleaser and high sensitive easily develops into depression lol

I literally annoy my therapist with back and forth small instances of "Did you know that-" Type 5 literally turns the table between therapist and patient around
