Hardly begins to address the character of the six. All he mentions is loyalty, faith, and fear. The core issue of the six is insecurity; we question, analyze, overthink, and endlessly research, in search of absolute certainty, because we cannot just let it be and make do with what we presently know or have. Nothing is ever enough. We doubt, we are suspicious of everything. Our greatest strength, and weakness, is that we can see and understand all sides of an issue. We are paralyzed by our ability to see endless possibilities. And everyone looks foolish or stupid and selfish, to us, because they all seem to jump to conclusions, seeing only one possibility (whichever one justifies them) and defending their own side. We need to relax, but also trust ourselves. Our ability to see multiple angles and to sympathize is a great gift. We need to stop idolizing those who project confidence because they have a simple, solid viewpoint. Our complexity is magnificent. Our openness is incredible. We don't have to choose one way or one insight. Our grace is that we can exist in many ways and honor many ways of being.

SO MUCH THIS. Thanks for making this comment! I tire so much of 6s basically being told not to be a 6 instead of acknowledging our gifts of instinct and being able to think about a problem from many different angles.

"The Enneagram is no serious scientific model. It belongs to the confusing and rapidly changing field of lay-psychology: it seems to be a flourishing trade. A psychologist who is a member of the Dutch Institute of Psychologists who works with the Enneagram, risks getting a complaint based on Article III.3 of the professional Code of Ethics, which is about expertise. For non-psychologists such restrictions of course do not apply. But as the Enneagram industry is making statements about our personality - which is subject to scientific research and a profession - we must call a spade a spade: it is simply nonsense." Dr. Wim Hofstee, Psychology Professor Emeritus. Just a reminder that the Enneagram is not valid, and psychologists do NOT recommend using it for anything.

@@andrewcramer9200 Because many psychologists have a very narrow empiricist view on human nature. The Enneagram works with subtle energies and core mechanisms. Just like you can't solve a case of a crime with the scientific method (repeating of the "experiment"), depth psychology can't be researched with it either. For example, characters who are mainly dominated by envy can vary wildly in the expression of this deep drive. No scientific experiment will give us any clue about the deeper pattern. Your scientism in itself is a ridiculous ideology. I grew out of it at the age of 16, maybe you should do this step too? 😉

I don’t understand myself and thought that I’m wired and strange, not like people around me. I have no ideas how to get rid of my weakness until I found out how god see us and the goodness in us. I started to forgive myself and give grace to myself day by day. I have been happier and understand my spouse and others more. 😍Thank you so much for uploading this video here, so we can watch it even we re not living in USA 🇺🇸 . 🌈🌈 Bless you

This whole video is confusing! Why is the enneagram being taught in church if it has occultic origins? God teaches us through the Bible, which is the only tool we need. Proverbs 30:6 warns us, "Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar." The enneagram is strongly associated with New Age philosophy and has occultic origins. The man credited with introducing the enneagram to the West is George Gurdjieff. Gurdjieff was a mystic, philosopher, and spiritual teacher immersed in occultic practices such as astrology, mental telepathy, spiritism, fortune telling, and posession. One of his followers Oscar Ichazo, along with Claudio Naranjo (a psychiatrist and occultist) began relating the enneagram with personality types in the 1960s. In a 2010 interview, Caudio Naranjo admitted that he lied about the origins of the enneagram because he wanted his idea to become famous and widely accepted. Naranjo admitted the enneagram is not an ancient tool of Babylonian origin. He confessed he arrived at the nine personality types through "automatic writing," which is the process of producing written words while in a trance state. The words arose from a supernatural source. The bible warns us not to channel spirits (Leviticus 19:31). The enneagram is a demonic New Age teaching that is infiltrating the church. Please do your research, and remember the devil is the master of deception. Don't be led astray. 🙏🏼 The interview link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qaCDla2Dh9G0lJs.html

In response to your yoga comment, it originated as a form of Hindu worship. Yoga poses are actually offerings to the 330 million Hindu gods. Yoga also involves opening chakras, one of which is the third eye and involves reaching a higher level of consciousness. Isn't this how the serpent deceived Eve? (Genesis 3) He told her that by eating the forbidden fruit her eyes would be opened and she would be like God. Desiring wisdom, she ate the fruit and sinned against God. Yoga and Christianity simply don't mix. I recently found this channel for non yoga stretches that Christians can do. kzread.info/dash/bejne/jIaCyrFxnLXZdbA.html

I think the pastor, unfortunately, doesn't do a great job of painting a full picture of sixes. He was a bit condescending and focused mainly on fear. We have wonderful qualities and are actually very brave people in our healthy levels. Sixes are very loyal and reliable and make great friends to those they are loyal to. We can be fun and go with the flow when we feel comfortable in our environment. Sixes are not hiding in the fetal position crying in the corner somewhere. We have a tendency to anticipate the worst and need time to process and prepare for different possibilities. I think that's ok as long as we don't let fear take over.

@@radnerb I see you spouting this misinformation everywhere and it really sucks. First you don't know shit about Hinduism (surprise, it is NOT a polytheistic religion, but a very monotheistic one, to the degree that there is even something we can call Hinduism), now you don't know anything about the Enneagram. The concepts of core sins and attributed character-types goes back into the first centuries of christianity. The Enneagram arose out of Sufi-mysticism and christian mysticism and was later used and slightly adapted by some new age-movements. People like you aren't christians, you don't follow a living God, you are just letter-loving selfrighteous pharisees

@@anahata3478 What I know about Hinduism is this; in the Hindu form of monotheism, there is one god source (Brahman) from which all deities are manifest. In other words, all the gods and goddesses of the Hindu faith represent different forms or aspects of one main source. Is this correct? I am asking sincerely. This is different from Christian monotheism because we do not believe other deities exist. I stated the Enneagram is rooted in mysticism and is New Age dogma, which you seemed to agree with in your response. I am not sure what exactly you are offended about. Is it because I called the enneagram demonic? Did you watch the video I linked (in which Claudio Naranjo claims the nine personality types of the enneagram were given to him by a spirit through the process of automatic writing)? How else can you describe that besides demonic? I am really asking you. From your response, I can't tell if you are Hindu or Christian. Maybe neither? If you are Hindu and use the enneagram, my opinion shouldn't matter to you because my opinion is not about non-Christians using the enneagram. If you are Christian and use the enneagram, my opinion stands. Christians do not need the enneagram to relate to God. The Bible is the only tool we need.
