But I don't understand, is it incorrect? I heard that song before and The Eagles are american, or is it a very old word that nobody uses nowadays?

But anyways, their lessons are good
Finally, two problematic topics are covered in a neat short video. Thanks! So, if I get it right, "down the hall" means "away from the point where we are". But what about "up the hall"? Is it possible to say something like "we went up the hall", and what is the difference between "down the hall" vs. "up the hall"?

"up the hall" and "down the hall" are the same unless you know the order of room numbers. if the room numbers are growing up while you're going along the hall then you're going up the hall and vice versa. But in reality "down the hall" is more common. Just use it in any case. There is also a phrase "up and down the street" meaning any direction along the street and you can use it for a hall too.
Can I say "up the hall"? Thank you and great channel.
Down the hall = at the end of the hall?
@pashu16af

no. it's somewhere along the hall. Any room along the hall is down the hall
Thank you. May I ask when we use corridor

When you're not in US, I guess ;-)

You can say it, but you'll sound more British

@@mohamedanbi5013 nope. Listen to "Hotel California" by Eagles. It was an American rock band and they used the word "corridor" in the song.
Thanks for this video! Liza how long did it take you to become such a great english speaker? what was your journey like? Love from Berlin
So people from the US never say corridor? That's news to me.
Do we ever use the word Corridor?
@pashu16af
