ENGLAND secure first ever competitive win over SWEDEN at EURO 2012
Спорт
As Sweden face England in the 2018 FIFA World Cup quarter final in Samara, UEFA.tv look back on England's first ever win over the Scandinavians in competitive football at UEFA EURO 2012. Goals from Andy Carroll, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck were enough to see off Swedish goals from Olof Mellberg.

Sad that Parker only started getting played when he was declining with age. Seems like he could have been the answer to how to play Gerrard and Lampard in the same team. Just think about if England had played a 4-2-3-1 with Parker (as the holding mid) and Gerrard (with freedom to move up and down the pitch) in the 2 and Lampard (pushing forward to join the striker) as the attacking mid. Similar to the way Brozovic worked with Modric and Rakitic in 2018.
