For the love of God, check your info before you comment. The WICB had fallen out with them. They not giving them long contracts. They would pick them for one series every six months or year. So instead of wasting time they go play in India, Bangladesh, South Africa & Pakistan in their respected leagues.

The West Indies need to bring back the bowler friendly pitches they had in the 90s. They don't have a strong enough bowling attack to bowl well on these batter friendly wickets. This was like a home game for England.

I love England cricket team I never mis this team joe root and Joes roy is good player

Root, England's anchor player, made his hundred quicker than Gayle. Run rate is the key, along with batting line up strategy. England have the most incredible batting line up strategy in the world - openers blast it. If they get out cheaply, Root / Morgan consolidate. If they don't, Morgan smashes it. Then the batting runs all the way down to Woakes who has 10 first class hundreds to his name, and one test hundred. With Stokes, Buttler, Ali all ready to come in. This England team is borderline unbeatable, as we saw in last WC.

Gayle's innings cost the Windies the game. Terrible running between wickets, and way too many dot balls. Bashing sixes looks great for the highlight reel, but an innings like Root's is far more valuable.

It's strange, because Windies used to be a legendary team in 70s-80s, absolutely ruled cricket in tests and ODIs, even now they're good in T20 format. Seems like people just lost interest over time because their team didn't brought any trophy home.

And this is why England are the #1 ODI team in the world. I've been a cricket lover ever since I started playing in the school 2nd XI (I ended up captain of the 1st XI). Throughout the 70s and 80s, the England team could be relied upon to wrest defeat from the tightly-clenched jaws of victory. There were that many times that England managed to make me groan and cover my eyes... what a transformation! Nowadays, you EXPECT England to tick off a run chase, or bowl out the opposition in the 4th innings in a Test Match. I'm proud again to watch England play.
