If the Nassau pitch condition was in India during a WC, the whole western media esp the British and Aust would have been baying for the blood of the curators and BCCI and the journalists, ex players ,analysts and supporters would have called for the tournament to be cancelled. But because it’s in US, the condition of the pitch has been played down by saying it’s acceptable as it has given low score thrillers.

I'm sorry but that's just stupid remark. Each team uses the same pitch.

@@HenriHattar I talking about the pitch conditions and not about teams. You are the stupid one if you think the pitch is perfect for a WC tournament It’s clearly is not and was very dangerous when India played against Ireland But why no big shout from all the west media, journalists, ex players, analysts about the conditions? Bcos it’s in US and not in India, SL or Bangladesh.

I like Buttler and Root. They are both better players without the burden of captain.

I think Yas and Butch have the Bairstow opening timeline wrong. Buttler was opening in 2018, First opening in 2016. Bairstow's first stint opening in the IPL and England was 2019. He wasn't shunted around so Buttler could open. From the stats I have seen Buttler didn't play T20 for England in 2019. I would assume that was why Bairstow was moved up.

Australia creates good cricketers. Full stop! I dont know the stats but id guess that of the top tier teams, Australia would have the most similar T20 to Test teams. It means its easier to build continuity which holds up in pressure games/tournaments. England try and create to many specialists.

Bairstow needs a break. He's been playing non-stop since the 50-overs WC. He won't admit it though.

The NY pitch has become my favorite T20i pitch of all time. It's giving everyone an equal chance to win because games like WI vs Ugansa are pointless.

I get really frustrated with English commentary on most things, I understand their patriotisem but don;t understand their pure lack of accepting the truth. England lost the game agains Australia MASSIVELY, yet these guys and MOST English seem to dance around this . WHY?

I was just giving my English mum, who has advanced White Matter Disease and has had two strokes, so struggles to recall how things pan out.... another run down of the lay of the land in the T20 WC thus far... (because she forgets.... or, maybe, is just repressing like F the pain of another looming English defense failure, and cleverly hiding behind the neurological illness :P ).... and came to the realization, as we spoke... that out of ALL the teams in Group A, based on how they played.... and taking in to account that... ahem.. controversial... NYC wicket.... the USA out all the the group, is the one which has shown they have the BEST chance of beating India. Even if they do not, the fact I can honestly and confidently say that, and feel that anyone who's actually been watching the tournament, could not argue with that, is phenomenal, and shows just how far the USA has come in a relatively short time. I personally think they will do for Ireland, and go through to the Supers, effectively sending Pakistan home. They got their ODI status not so long ago, but I think they are a bit a way from being even underdogs in a World Cup, being a new Netherlands, claiming scalps at that level... but I think in T20 tournaments and one off ODI series even, the US is going to really jump up the ladder, and get some serious legit pedigree if they can keep the form they had leading in to, and so far, through, this tournament. For anyone reading, I am an Aussie, not a seppo, so this comes from a neutral position with no dog in this fight (the can Cricket work in the US/the US become good at Cricket fight).

Classic Ben Gardner assessement of the Australian team, as always clutching at straws. Surely only the most one-eyed England fan could endorse the truly fanciful analysis that Chris Jordan is the "equivilent" to Pat Cummins. And then the predictable English conspiracy theory that Australian will deliberately "throw" the Scotland game to conspire against England. Maybe that's the reason why Australia wins...we don't actually think of those scenarios like a manipulative Englishman would if faced with the same situation.
