Do you want to:
1. Wash out your beer lines
2. Fill PET plastic bottles with counter pressure using the counter pressure cap
3. Make a mini keg system using inexpensive parts
4. Setup a portable little keg system for a fraction for a fraction of the cost of kegs.

    Have you considered a PCO 1881 to Duotight fitting? That plus this tee would be a slick way of adding a thermowell to a Fermzilla without drilling, easier to disassemble for cleaning + more sanitary. Also would eliminate need for ball lock QD on soda bottle keg, just straight to picnic tap. Sure wish all of your stuff was widely / readily available in the US!

    those small soda stream co2 bulbs that you screw to the top of kegs, I was wondering if you sell refillable ones? the reason I ask is a lot of us have kegarators and or chest freezers converted into one and either put the co2 bottle inside along with a mile of hoses going in all directions or have the co2 bottle outside with the hose going inside the kegerator linked up to all the hoses, I just thought it would be a good idea if there was a way to refill the bulbs with your big 6KG co2 bottle just so you don't have heaps of hoses getting in the way

    These are a standard metric o-ring and the 10x1 would work fine. The 8 x 1 is a slightly better fit though. I should say we revised the design recently with the Gen 2 model and now the new models are designed better so it's even harder to damage the o-ring when assembling/dissasembling.

    I think it is a cool system to use for transferring Star San, PBW and other cleaning solutions through tap lines. The only bigger issue I see for this with longer term beer usage, is that it would be hard to purge oxygen from it with the dip tube inserted. You could always attach a spunding valve to it to relieve the pressure, but not to purge and add co2 at the same time. Edit: Actually, I think it could be possible to squeeze ese the bottle while a spunding valve is attached and then add pressure to the bottle once there's almost no more air left in the bottle.

    I've had problems getting the T-piece tightly enough onto PET bottles. I've tried with two T-pieces, and it seems to depend on the bottle, but more than half the times I've tried, it leaked gas when pressurized so wouldn't keep pressure. A single carbonation cap has always worked perfectly fine on the same bottles, so it feels there's something in the T-piece that makes it not seal as well.

  • @KegLand

    Hello Olli. Not all soda bottles have the same thread. Our products are made to suit the PCO1881 standard. With that said some bottle manufacturers make their cylinders to a different shape or size or make products that do not meet the standard. The thread standard "PCO1881" standard can be found on the website for the "International Society of Beverage Technologists". Here is a link for your convenience: www.isbt.com/assets/Committees/Packaging-Technology/21/3784253-21.pdf If your thread does not fit the most likely scenario is that the dimensions of the bottle you are using do not match this above standard.

    @@KegLand The thing is, with some bottles, your carbonation caps fit perfectly and seal up well, but neither of the two T-pieces I have work. I've tried on a handful or so of bottles from the shop, and their own caps are all interchangable. It seems a bit random.

    @@OlliWilkman You reallly need to make sure you are using the PCO1881 specificaion bottle. You might find some PCO1810 bottles will mesh together and work sometimes but not all th times. This is simply not a correct match. I would contact the bottle supplier and make sure you are using the correct thread and I can assure you it will work all the time. Unfortunetly more and more thread types are comming available. The good thing is we are incresing the range of PCO1881 bottles that we distribute ourselves so you can also just purchase botles from us.

    How can I use a carbonation cap to vacuum out air in a bottle before I connect a CO2 hose to carbonate the water? I want to do this in a glass bottle. If I was using a plastic soda bottle I can just squeeze the bottle to get the air out before tightening the cap.

  • @KegLand

    @KegLand

    1. We do not make one of these caps to suit glass bottles. 2. We do no really recommend pressurising a glass bottle with a gas cylinders as a bit more dangerous and an exploding glass bottle can cause quite a lot more harm than a plastic bottle. Also plastic tends to hold significantly more pressure before failing.

  • @KegLand

    @KegLand

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@dyardsale5475 I would agree that some plastics are bad and can leach plasticisers or other toxins. We spend a lot of time in research and development and we stay away from plastics such as polycarbonate, vinyl based plastics, plastics that contain plasticisers. The PET plastic and POK which we used in these plastic parts are completely safe and we are very happy recommending the use of them. If you read broadly you can find information such as PET as it breaks down can leach very small amounts of acid aldehyde as it breaks down which can be toxic. With that saidt in the extremly small concentrations its benign. It's also woth saying that if you plan on drinking alcohol then you will definitely have acid aldehyde in your blood as it's an essencial pathway to breaking down alcohol. So having done a lot of research in this area I personally am very happy with the use of these plastics that we use which is why I use them myself. I honestly believe you are placing far more risk in loosing an eye with an exploding glass bottle than drinking from plastic. I am fairly confident that you will find the alcoholic beverage is far more toxic than anything that is going to come from the PET and POK resins that we use.

  • @dyardsale5475

    @dyardsale5475

    @@KegLand Thank you for your help. I was worried about the plastics in the bottle, not your accessories. The risk from explosion may be mitigated by pressuring the glass bottle while it's in a sack of some kind and removing the cap before removing the bottle from the sac. Also, wearing goggles and gloves.
