    Looks very cool. The one without a chiller for a cheaper price would be nice, though. I have a kegerator setup so no need for a cooler. Or maybe a compressor that adds nitro to the existing lines on the go? Just saying :)

Half the time the item was off the screen (not just off the center). Oh and sell the device with WiFi Charger pre-installed please..

    Can't wait to use these awesome piece of kit !! At around the 22 minute mark, you say the gas can be fitted at the top. Could you run through how to fit this? An elbow will not fit on the bottom of the reducer, at least not in line with the regulator, & the hose is too rigid to bend into place. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Fully charged, registerd and calibrated, but cannot find a way to get any info out of the thing. Just a 'No data has been received from your device' message. Most of the buttons on the interface do nothing, and in any case their intended functions are unclear. This device has such great potential, but let down by a clunky interface and a shortage of instructions.

    Instead of running glycol through the jacketed tank, can hot water run through it to heat the tank? I make mead and I am looking to figure out a way to heat the mead up to 140F in order to pasteurize it. Once pasteurized, then I can back sweeten if needed. I am trying to figure out a way to pasteurize in a fermenter.

    I must be missing something as I don't understand the purpose. When mashing in you can directly look at the graduations to see the volume and pre-boil or during the boil your volume is up around 100L so the sight glass being only up to 80L would be pointless.

    Great walk-through! I really don't understand the infatuation with 1.5" TC ports. A 1.5" TC port is overkill for an analog pressure gauge, safety PRV, blow-off pipe, spunding valve, thermowell, sample valve, glycol port, ... The X3 lid is so crowded. A 1.5" TC port is too small for a hop drop. The hop drop should be on an 8" to 3" or 8" to 4" adapter cap. There was plenty of real estate on the X3 lid for the 8" TC main port and four smaller TC ports. Interesting decision to forgo a racking valve. I like that you followed Brewtools lead with the welded lid, 8" TC main lid port, glycol jacket and 2" TC cone port to accept a heating element. With the X4, take a look at the Brewtools F-series lid ports.

    You would still have to mash the grains somehow but you are right. If we make a more powerful 2" TC element then you could boil inside the fermenter which would be pretty cool. Do you think many customers would want to see this solution?

  • @KegLand

    this subject certainly did come up during the design process but It's really not an issue with the 1.5" TC as the concentric 1.5" to 2" TC reducers are quite cheap. Also we were really running out of space on the top of the unitank so we didn't really have a lot of options in that respect.

    I definitely agree on the 8in port instead of the clamp, after a year using my spike conical it the threads loosen up a bit and the clamp definelty helps with the leaking of air even if it’s well libricated with cip lube.

  • @KegLand
    @KegLand28 күн бұрын

    @@KegLand I actually didn’t think about that lol, the thing was that when I purchased it, spike was the cheapest option. I’m glad allot more manufacturers are opting in on the 8” opening instead I genuinely think that it helps maintain pressure more effectively.

    Really looking forward to getting this one. Suggestion: if you're only going to have the one controller on the glycol unit itself, is there a way to move it to the front? If you have the unit with the back facing a wall you can't see or easily change the temp. Mine isn't facing a wall but where I've had to place it it's still really hard to get myself in a position where I can read it. The power switch being on the front could be good too.

  • @KegLand
