  • @KegLand

    @KegLand

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for that MJRR. We appreciate it. It's quite possible that we do a larger 19L kegs size soon but one difficulty we have with the larger sizes is that it's increasingly difficult to make they robust enough to handle being dropped. So the smaller 4L and 8L sizes will always handle more abuse like being dropped on the concrete while if you drop a 19L keg there is a good chance it would burst so this is our main concern.

    great video - lots of information. Question on filling. I'm sure that I could fill it like I would a growler. But if I want to transfer from carbonated keg, can I close transfer into this through the liquid out/dip tube and filter? Is it best to use a spunding valve on the gas in ball lock with the same or slightly lower psi as transfer pressure? What else do I need to know about this transfer?

  • @KegLand

    @KegLand

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes you can definitely do that. I do the pressure transfers myself and also use the closed transfer process to do this with these kegs. As you have suggested you can just fill up the keg via the dip tube or alternatively through the gas outlet (best done upside down if you choose to do that.)

    With a mini regulator, a few CO2 cartridges and a picnic tap this becomes extremely portable at a very nice price. I'd like to see a neoprene jacket designed for this, similar to the ones you have for your stainless steel mini kegs with the CO2 cartridge pockets. Looking at the dimensions this can fit into the 8-10L jacket, but this bottle is a little bit slimmer and taller than the mini kegs it was designed for. Not sure how well that would work?

    The darker beers like Stout and Barleywines will not be effected anywhere near as much and would age in these kegs fine for 12 months or longer. Now that we have cracked the multilayer process we will also eventually implement this in the 8L preform too.
