If I bought a beautiful, high clarity diamond, I wouldn’t want to hide it in a halo ring. I would want it to stand alone with a pave ring setting.

Totally understand your point. You can't go wrong with a big beautiful rock standing on its own. Halos offer a nice presentation enhancement.

Osiris helped me with the purchase of an engagement ring from James Allen. After reviewing several rings we settled on a beautiful 2ct ring that was half the price of many retailers. The ring was better in quality and GIA certified. Definitely made the process simpler for me.

So, I binge watched your videos. I’m looking for a second ring. About 8 years ago my husband bought my engagement ring from Jared. He ( and myself ) knew nothing about diamonds. My engagement was a complete surprise which was amazing.. however after a month or so I looked at the ring and yup it wasn’t a ring I Would’ve picked. I wasn’t crazy about it. I didn’t want to look ungrateful, we were poor back then so he painted houses on the side to buy me this ring! so I said nothing for years. Last year I finally told him. And I’ve been looking at new rings and your videos are Godsent! Thank you. Oh by the way my Jared ring has a cloud in the diamond ! You can see it with the naked eye. Annoyed me for years

I appreciate this information. Shopping on James Allen has been overwhelming... but getting to see them in a more natural setting helps. My opinion of certain styles has even changed-- hopefully narrowing my search. Thanks.

Would have liked to see a variety of rings at a more affordable size. Seeing a bunch of 2 carat center stones that I'll not be able to afford is tough to visualize.

I understand. unfortunately I can only use what they sent. Still gives an idea of the styling I think. Also shows how a smaller halo compares to a solitare. Also, with lab diamonds being affordable, may looking into labs can visualize. Thanks for watching, maybe next time I will mention if they have more rings with a 1 carat center stone. Hi Eric, thanks for the comment. Its confusing for sure. Engagement ring is what you use to pop the question. Wedding band is what you use during your wedding ceremony. Typically a skinny pave band. Some mall stores sell them in sets. Often these are pre packaged rings with main stones. Best way, buy loose stone first then build around that.

Halo setting are just a trick to add smaller diamonds and say you got more carats...aka total carat.

Lol, how it is a trick when you indeed got more diamonds and carats...? Are the accent diamonds weightless? It's a great way to add mass to the ring for women with larger hands size 9+, great way to enhance a smaller stone, or just got crazy and put a halo on a 2 carat stone ( again for larger hands). It's also a great way to add flare on the shank and undercarriage with petal designs.

Joe, I think what Clint is saying is at traditional(shady) retail stores, they sell you the total carat weight. They try to make the 2 carat total weight stone sound better when its really a .80 center stone with lots of smaller cheaper diamonds. If you buy online, that is separated which is what Joe is thinking of. Separating the value is the correct way of selling which online does.
