Ғылым және технология

Power Apps Portals can be a great solution when you need to build an external website but integrate with data you have in Dataverse. In this video we dive into an example of a portal we built, along with talking about some of the pros and cons to using portals.

Thank you! Exactly what I’m looking for. Do you have a tutorial video on how you develop this? Did you use powerAutomate for the request to route to the admin?

Hey Whiskey, at the moment we don't have a tutorial made, but it is in our backlog! You're correct in that Power Automate was used for routing that request.

Great example, very helpful. Thank you. Do you happen to know of a resource that plainly clarifies if an organization has access to the CDS based on subscription level? I currently work with Power Apps using Sharepoint lists internally but I can not tell if our tier of service can use the Portal Apps.

When in Power Apps you can click on the Setting Gear and then click on Plan(s). This should give you a list of the licenses you have. If it says something like Power Apps for Office 365 only then you don't have access to Dataverse (CDS). If you have something like "Power Apps Per User Plan" then you have access to Dataverse. With this said, Power Apps Portals are licensed completely differently. You can have access to the Dataverse and still not be licensed for Power Apps portals.

Superb video. How do you mange Power Pages in terms of CI/CD? Do you use multiple environments and deploy using CLIs or azure DevOps or can you get away with just one environment?

Doing this isn't something that would be straightforward and would require some fairly advanced knowledge of Power Apps. Do you really want to support local authentication? We generally recommend using Azure B2C or External Authentication (Facebook, Google, etc) for authentication. Using this you shouldn't need to worry about the username.

whar about a use case where i need to share power bi reports with clients and give them hand to update their database, like no need for a technical profile to make the update with new data everytime there is new data, which tools do you suggest for that ?

I think there are probably some "hacks" you could piece together to share analytics with users having external / guest access through a Team and then piece together some other ways to write back data. That said, I think the proper way to service this type of use case would be with a PowerApps Portal.

Quick question so I'm making a portal app for external users to use without a login to search for a specific engineer's qualifications. They need to type Forename, Surname & DOB to find specific user. Once they do that it should show that person in a list. However my issue is the list already populated and shows all the records of all engineers in the data verse. What I want to do is make sure they can't see them records and are only able to see the records of the specific engineer they've searched for

This is something difficult to respond to in a YT comment. If you can provide some more details about how you actually implemented anonymous access and the search functionality it might help.

Hi Jamaal, we do have a free option where we can talk through questions like these that are a little open-ended, and that is at our monthly Office Hours. You can learn more here: www.bulb.digital/office-hours If it's more time sensitive, we do have a paid working session service you can learn more about here: www.bulb.digital/services#private-coaching
