The test drive of this Honda Integra Type R DC5 is the follow-up to our previous DC2 video. Many viewers hope that Lung Sir and Edmond Lau would also test the DC5. After contacting a friend, REV Channel found a good example of Integra Type R DC5, specifically the JDM Mugen version. The friend who generously lent us the Type R DC5 originally purchased this car as a collector's item. It has very few miles on it and is an extremely original version. This time, during the test drive, Lung Sir and Edmond Lau were surprised that the difference between DC5 and DC2, given that they are only separated by a few years. The body rigidity of DC5 has been greatly improved, but the body weight is not much heavier than DC2. From DC2's B-series engine to K20A's i-VTEC engine, coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox, even though the explosive power at high rpm is not as dramatic as DC2's B18, the speed and power are still extraordinary. Both of them feel that DC5 is more difficult to control than DC2. Why? Is it because the DC5 Type R switched to front MacPherson suspension? This is just one of the reasons. There are more reasons behind Honda’s philosophy of making Integra DC5. Following the success of the Type R DC2, when Honda conceived the new generation of Integra, it seemed to focus more on how to make the new car more powerful and faster on the track. This goal made the DC5 not as pleasant to drive on the street as the DC2, but in reality, the sheer performance of the DC5 on the track is no doubt to all. Edmond Lau even recalled driving the DC5 at the Zhuhai Circuit.

DC5 個車架係基建於第7代civic 身上,如果你擁有過兩部車,你就發覺好多野好相似,而馬拉同泰國呢兩部車仍然好多人玩,係嗰邊H車之中大熱嚟~ 仲有DC5呢部車個尾籠好適合送貨用,跑車嚟講尾籠數一數二咁大,後庭又有平地台設計,但呢部車軚呎好易壞同好易爆,第二車個頂剛性唔夠,有D位好易烈開...,仲有尾籠對落後備胎位好易因為落雨儲水養金魚~有心買呢部車既朋友仔要留意~

曾經擁有第三同第四代普通版integra/RSX,廿年後既今日仲好清楚記得第四代車架剛性比第三代實在強太多,就算慢速一過S彎已非常明顯。不過講樣就真係第三代四眼仔(小改款前)贏幾條街!可惜家陣喺街好少見到😢

成套懸掛及幾何都改晒, roll centre 都完全不同, 仲同街車有什麼關係? 閉上眼坐一個圈就知完全唔係dc 5 , btcc 不是n 組吧

我覺得呢 D 舊車就好似我自己本行咁。當技術力追唔上所有用戶體驗的需求,就需要設計師大膽地做取捨。而唔同嘅取捨就會產生差距巨大的結果,我們叫呢 D 差距做:風格。這就是那個不完美的年代帶來的不完美的魅力。

DC5 前McPherson 個caster 太細dynamic camber gain 好少再加埋long steering rod 易bumpsteer 所以呔感唔夠DC2 好同更多under steer由其如果low 低多過一寸以上, 後double wishbone 又因為共享平台的關係要有大室內空間所以尾避震奇短motion ratio 好奇怪地要比前彈弓磅數double 先可以抑制過多camber gain 但高磅數又會有binding 既問題(早期有車隊甚至用到後30kg/mm),所以後來好多k swap 去dc2 同EK EG 嘅出現各取所長.

你說出了重點---共用平台限制了很多設計空間,沒辦法type R甚至整個Integra車系,相對Civic只是很少數。

但想請問龍sir ,10年後Toyota 出的GT86 佢的沖程和缸徑都係86x86 ,一樣都係2000cc ,但點解馬力上會差咁遠? 係咪因為GT86佢係水平對向引擎,同車身重過DC5 有關?所以同DC5有差異?
