She is his first love. She is probably the first woman that wasn't family or a servant that treated him honestly. That wasn't trying to get close to him for her own benefit. It was her honesty, integrity and intelligence that made both the emperor and Lord Ding fall in love with her.

I love that about this drama it was a real happy ending!

@@sarenh9085 it’s just out of respect. I think when Chinese people get married they bow to each other, their parents and the heavens (traditionally anyhow not sure if still the practice). But usually I don’t see that deep of a bow to the spouse in other shows so just found it really sweet he did that, just shows again how much he adores and respect her.

That was such a sweet side romance! So adorable Juli interrupted their kiss with a snack.

The ending was a tearjerker for me. So touching that the emperor did this. Their. Relationship was always tight. I liked that.

Because of her ambition she lost the two men who loved her the most. Good for you "Holy maiden"

This drama was good. I have to watched the ending many times. Lord Ding was so cute how he keep his posture not to have big smile and his wife smile generously. The emperor and lord ding had a respectful relationship to each other. Well done, everyone. I hope everyone get an awards for this movie.

Oh Shen, you truly loved the "Empress", dying for her, the evil in her outweighed the love, I'm just sad the emperor didn't get an empress but all in all, its one of the best drama ever, the two bodyguards of Lord Ding, so handsome, lovely ending

For a piece of fiction, EXCELLENT drama and highly talented cast. Well worth the watch.

Shen forgot where he came from. He forgot about his poor background, he forgot how he was from nothing an struggled to become something. He allowed the princess to turn his loyalty to her as slavery. He died well,

This was a beautiful drama, I loved it immensely! Loved the characters, even the villains. I thought it was beautifully tragic that the princess was able to sit in the throne she so desired as she died. I was so happy that the young emperor turned out to not be so pathetic, I was quite proud of him. Love a happy ending for the main couple!

Things I've noticed watching this drama: * The writer kept the strength of the story, it never drops, faded or get strainous to watch. * Before each episode begins, we can clearly see on our screen written "Its the work of fiction." The consistency of the emphasis is a 100. * The actresses and actors role playing was meticulous. They executed their roles flawlessly. * When it comes to etiquettes, no one was lacking. Really excellent drama. Big up and large up the entire cast✅💯. Well done 👍❤

SO SATISFYING! Glad they didn't rush the ending! The actors, makeup artists, outfit designers, music, all SPECTACULAR! Huge kudos to the script writers & producers! AMAZING JOB!! But I wish they revealed she also strangled the Northern princess with the bead necklace! Or, perhaps even better, if she didn't die and Mu scholar gave her fake blood to split out. I was secretly hoping that was the case, since he was there and hiding. Also, nobody revealed to the king that she also caused the 30,000 solders to die. He needed to know! Mu scholar also sacrificed his life to try and save hers, but she still killed herself anyway. Didn't like that. Sure we all hate her, but I preferred if she became a nun and forever just pray to pay back some of her sins. And the sword that is suppose to save their entire nation once drawn... was used to enter the prison? That's it? And then it's useless afterwards? What?? Another unbelievable part is how Zhuohua was able to cure Ding's poison in his body so easily and quickly, when not even the world's best doctors in the imperial palace could heal him in years! So just some minor flaws/things. Regardless, this is how dramas should be made... a very solid 9.5/10 grade!!!

But Zhouhua had already pulled out the sword from its sheath and declared war. For everyone, Lord Ding died at the hands of the emperor. The princess can rely on this, but there will be no enchanting effect with the sword. Everything went casually. As for healing. Zhouhua clearly inherited her grandfather's talent. At the very beginning, when she saves him for the first time, he gives the doctor a sachet and a recipe for testing. The Imperial Physician says that Lord Ding has met a unique healer. The imperial doctors are good and have a lot of experience, but she, like her grandfather, is able to come up with something new. By the way, there she says that she came up with a new recipe. Lord Ding gave her her grandfather's library from which she must have learned a lot. It may well be that the effect of accumulation of influence worked, the old experience + her new approaches and the desire to save him gave the desired result for everyone.

The acting was on point. The most impressive to me were the actors who played Princess Rou Jia and Shen Jinghong. The storyline and relationships were so original and modern: The male lead who announce in court "Yes, we're not married but we're together. So what?" or when he broke up with her with a letter. It was the traditional version of breaking up by text message. I also love the fact a woman was so ambitious she tried to steal the crown. The only bad thing of this drama is the fact the plot was sometimes way too predictable.
