That's tough. If you could get a student license or something, give C4D a shot. A lot of people use it, a lot of industry support. However, if you're just wanting to make cool things on your own or you own your own business, give Blender a try. Also, if you don't know 3D at all, start with blender and see if you stick to it and learn.
