Enclosures for Tenor sax
Thanks again to @andyhuckleberrywilliamsoni3873 for the suggestion to create a tutorial about enclosures. In this video we take a very clear and simple look at what an enclosure is, why it sounds awesome on the sax, how to build one and where to apply it. I demonstrate using an enclosure with a minor scale, and just to be very clear I show you where I'm getting that minor scale from. We take a look at an enclosure in a different key and then we put the two ideas together.

Apart from your videos being very informative, the production quality and especially the sound and balancing are all the way up there! Keep going and you might just reach hundreds of thousands sooner or later.

Thank you for this video. It explains so much. It seems that I have been playing enclosures for the last thirty years without even realizing it. I really should start paying attention to a bit of jazz theory. If you're ever in the Worthing area, let me know and we can sink a couple. Blessings to you and yours.

That sounds amazing! Santorini is one of my favourite places ever. Focus on one blues scale and get it really, really down. D blues is a good one, know it inside out 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
I love your enthusiasm - I can play the scale - adding the enclosure? When I do it ? I can hear your voice 'That sounds amazing'. Helps to turn down my bitter internal critic. Much respect

Thank you so much Steve and be kind to yourself 🙏🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Would you be able to show examples of enclosures over a 2 5 1 please? I become confused with this. Also could you do something on neighbour tones or as our cousins across the Atlantic say neighbor tones? You make it so clear. Thanks

I took lessons 50 years ago. Joe Lopes…alto player in Supersax. Great player but lousy teacher. This gent is giving you the keys to your new Yamaha Z series or even some old Selmer(lol)

Thanks Lynden. I really struggle with enclosures and applying them to my improve. Can you suggest an approach for practice. There are so many combinations it can become very complex and require great mental agility. How do you internalise enclosures and get then in your fingers?
