Really helpful video , many thanks . I had the Aebersold blues in 12 keys . It was to advanced at the time for my ability so didn’t help that much . A bit plinky plonky when I listen now . The apps you have highlighted are infinitely better musically. You have monopolised humbleness in your approach to these tutorials . Fantastic

I have used I real pro for years and amazing slow downer. But I had not heard of Quartet. I bought it immediately, 1 and 2 you can buy as a bundle for $29.99. They are so much better than I Real pro. So thanks for your very informative video, quartet really is good to play and improvise to the popular jazz standards.

Lynden: I’m an older guy who’s played saxophone for decades but without any formal guidance I’ve had a hard time figuring out what to practice and it shows when I go to improvise over a jazz standard. I feel I need an understanding of chords and their functions, key centers, etc., but I have hard time figuring out these items. Any suggestions/lessons? I appreciate your KZread lessons and advice. Hi Neil and thank you for your message and I’m happy to help you 🤝🤝 I’m going to be making a tutorial on Blue Bossa and explaining the chord structure very carefully. I work full time teaching sax from home and make tutorials in my spare time so give me a week or two but it is on its way and will help you a lot. I’m the mean time make sure that you know your major and minor scales and be able to hit the chord tones of both, that will make a big difference. Hope this helps and stay in touch 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

Hi Lynden, I have trouble with Session Band on my Apple ipad Jazz 2 does not show the menu at the top of screen. However, Jazz 1 does. What do you suggest? Also, Im trying to understand how did you make the 251 track for practicing scales for more then one measure. Can you explain how you done that? In addition, are you planning to offer online saxophone lessons for all levels?

All of them are excellent and Jazz 1,2 and 3 often are sold as a bundle and I’d start there. Does that help? 🤝🤝🎷🎷

Hi Kelvin, thanks for your message and I’m really happy that you like the app. Open the app, pick any genre on the left, pick any pre loaded demo on the right and when it opens, look at the bottom of the page near the left, you’ll see a oblong shape with an arrow coming out. Touch this and select “open”. Does this help?

Your style however, it seems you only use session band mainly on you apple iPad. What us the android or windows equivalent. Am I missing something here. Please comment. Thank you .

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. Yes I use iPad apps and personally dont use android. Unfortunately session band isn’t available on android at the moment. The closest thing that you can get on android is iReal pro which is also fabulous though 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

Lyndon. Thanks for this. Do you use sheet music backing tracks of which there are loads on KZread a lot by Sergey Braznik? Or do you tend to pick out the melodies by ear?
