Enchanted Forest Dining Experience | Placerville, CA

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Enchanted Forest Dining Experience recently won "Best Bite in Town" for Placerville on the Food Network. We tried a few dishes, including the winning Irish Gold Miner's Pasty Pie and some mead. The atmosphere and food made this a fun Saturday outing and would be a great place to go for a special occasion.

So wonderful see pair of you out n about again enjoying some lovely days out. Looking at reviews on Google maps online it seems interesting place Irish or Scottish folklore bands music played in person. Looks really fantastic, some old gold mine sites do gold panning see what u get in the pan.

Hi Richard. Yes, they have live music in the evenings. We went for lunch. It probably would have been difficult to record with a live band, but maybe we'll go back for a dinner some time.

Blimey, was it expensive? The food looked average at best, and you couldn't pay me a million dollars to wear light bulbs on my head. ````````````the town looks like a fake town from a B movie and the restaurant looked gimmicky and tacky. I'm convinced you'd love some of the UK's restaurants which mostly aren't 'themed' and tacky like that, an average curry house would blow that away.

Lot town's like this Phil were built for gold Rush it's on the edge of the Sierra Nevada mountains, some places still retain their character. Yes their always will be those jump on bandwagon. Lot those settled Phil in this part of Northern California were ex pats who came from Cornwall with their tin mine experience ideal in gold Rush swept America. Hence why americanised version of pasty appears in video, Mexico too shares cornish ancestors some towns in Mexico have pasty competitions see who best.

Hi Phil, we don't have many themed restaurants, but this was a fun experience for something a little different. I'm guessing the B movies were Westerns. The main street of this town is mostly buildings from the 19th century - many other gold rush era towns have a similar look. I'm sure we will love many restaurants in the UK when we get the chance to visit.

@@rthoc71 highway 49 runs through Placerville and if you take it 50 miles north, you'll be in Grass Valley. So many immigrants poured into California during the gold rush to try and strike it rich!
