'Empty Planet': The Looming Danger of Population Collapse Is Real

Empty playgrounds. Schools without enough students to stay open. Small towns, deserted and abandoned. This is not some dystopian vision of the future. Demographers say this is our future.
Global population growth is leveling off, and as early as the second half of this century could begin to shrink for the first time since the Black Death struck the world almost 700 years ago.
"Everything that we understand that functions in our societies today, that depends on people, which is almost everything, is going to change," says Stephen J. Shaw, a data scientist, demographer and producer of the film Birthgap.

@@axoletthe only reason less wealthy countries are having more kids is because child mortality rates are much higher in poorer countries, so some kids aren't making it to adulthood. They also need people to work on the family farm or the family business, so they have more kids to get more work out of them. This is a well documented trend that is studied by historians, sociologists, and anthropologists. As a country becomes more stable in terms of economics, technology, health care, and infrastructure, people start to have less kids because their kids are more likely to survive and also the parents are less reliant on child labor to make ends meet.

Good luck if we need a medical specialists, an adequate number of air traffic controllers, engineers and electricians to manage and repair our power and keep the grid up and running, enough agricultural workers to grow our food, etc. This is much, much bigger than just fewer people on earth and everyone is happier. There are many other videos on the subject.

Yes. There is a system of eugenics in play. In developed nations, the genetics of women who are not able to compete in the workforce are favoured. If the only job that you will ever get is low paid and dead-end, getting married or even having a child unmarried and living poorly on welfare, probably seems like a reasonable option. The choice is between the poverty of welfare and the poverty of low paid employment. My daughters both have good jobs. They would be nuts to give up their jobs to have children. Taking time out from the workforce for 8 or 10 years destroys a career. A mother is penniless. She must rely on another person for her needs and her children's needs. Yet she can be forced into poverty at any time on no grounds at all. Or she may have to choose between poverty and polygamy, or even physical abuse.

Empowering women is the most effective way to reduce fertility rates and achieve a sustainable population size that respects the limits of Earth’s carrying capacity. The number of years a woman has spent in education is usually inversely correlated with the number of children she will bear in her lifetime. - Quote from population matters. There are many articles that say the same thing. The important thing is we need to continue marching toward equality. Let's get those numbers to zero people!

I want to add that how the economy not getting better and not just in the US makes it difficult for people to want children and start families or even get involved with someone. I am not one to let that be an excuse as people have always made a way especially being together with someone but this selfish entitled materialistic and most definitely technology internet generation has made it difficult to say the least to find someone like minded and equally yoked because it seems almost everywhere you go and turn people are more and more worldly and ungodly. Besides church MAYBE where can you go to meet someone that is a decent person who could be right to mate with? Not to mention it seems more people are deciding to stay single and to them or single and mess around. The whole world or a lot of it just seems to be Sodom and Gomorrah or worse especially in the US, why even bring children into this world with the way things are now and how it seems it will be worse in the future.

The answer to any Christian should be plain as day: Secularism is the death of society as we know it. God calls for man to be fruitful and multiply, to unionize in marriage, and to subdue the land. This is what happens when we go against the grain of life, people seek fleeting romances that lead to trauma and disappointment and end up single, bitter, lost, and childless if not creating single parent households. Have strong moral values in Christ and we will heal and prosper.

I can recall how the 'population explosion' meme of the 70's and 80's did have an effect on prospective parents limiting the number of kids in the 80's. It was subtle, but it was there. I have a suspicion the opposite may occur now. That is parents might opt to have 'one more' if their is a little social pressure cheering them on. And, another note, I kind of doubt that magical '2.1' applies anymore when you have all this gender dysphoria stuff cutting in. More like 2.4 or more my guess. If 25% of teenagers are now identifying as 'binary' are they going to be having kids?

By CO2 and overpopulation propaganda they want to force us into having permission to have a child. And this child would be marked as GMO product, which means it will belong to corporation (banks). Same goes with euthanasia. Banksters don't need elder people, so they already starting propaganda about saving planet and yourself from poverty etc by euthanasia (Canada for now).
