The EMPEL Systems traction inverter demonstrates high efficiency by reducing SiC FET turn on/turn off energy losses with a programmable isolated gate driver, employing real-time variable gate drive strength. This system is scalable up to 750kW, with high power density due to the high integration of the gate driver and isolated power module, eliminating over 30 discrete components. Fast current loop implementation helps minimize motor torque ripple and provides smooth speed-torque profiles.
