Gotta love how iPod sends before I'm done. I'm going to be treated at Dana Farber and I meet with a nurse on Monday she said there are all kinds of support groups for newly diagnosed and for the care takers. I've watched a bunch of your videos today and I feel less panicked. I also love being in nature and finding toads etc.... Nature is such great medicine. Thx you for giving me hope. You are amazing.

Hugs to you! Feel everything, it helps. You can even set a timer and take turns with family members, every one gets to speak and be listened to respectfully for five minutes each. If that works, do it again, do ten minutes, or more. The goal is to get the feelings out. If someone starts crying or shaking, it's exactly right. Releasing the feelings helps make room to absorb the facts. You're going to get through this. xoxox

So sorry to hear about your daughter-in-law. It is very scary and difficult to go through this, and especially hard on husbands. There is a wonderful book called "Breast Cancer Husband" someone gave my husband. I highly recommend it. My cancer was 2b, very close to stage 3, but slightly less. It's hard to imagine that you'll ever get your life back, but chances are very good that she will. Love to you and your family.

Ouch, Donna, I feel your pain. I'm sorry you're not getting good support from your family, and I'm glad you're not continuing to knock on a door that isn't opening to you. But I hope that you don't stop there. Knock on other doors. Find a breast cancer support group, a lot of hospitals host them. Check out breastcancer [.org]. They have an excellent forum. You deserve to have people in your life who can listen and care about your fears and hardships and anger. Sending all my love your way. xo

I did the same thing - lots and lots of pillows. I have the same experience of feeling exposed. I realize my body doesn't know I had A Mastectomy - it think a Coyote mauled me, so even tho my chest feels "heavy" it feels better to lay a pillow on it. Same with being outside- need that protective puff in my cami. Yeah for Millie's summer Do. I am now 4 wks post & restart PT this week!

Okay Karin, I'll keep that in mind and work on it for upcoming videos. Do you know I have a couple of blogs where I write about food? One is called "Salad Diaries" the other "Babies or Not" - I just put the links in the info section of this video.

I came across your videos because I was searching for positive feedback. I wanted to see someone who has been through it all. I'm not the one with breast cancer, its my daughter- in- law. She is almost done with her chemo treatments but then has to do a bunch of radiation. She is having a hard time right now. She has stage 3 breast cancer. She is only 42. My son is going through a depression because of it and that in turn is making me feel depressed. What stage was your cancer?
