Holywood is very subjective... Work vs pay vs role... Star = more pay as does role. Iron man solo vs iron man avengers. It is unreasonable and unrealistic for an actor to expect some sort of equal pay when there is no such thing as an equal role. No two movies are equal in any way neither are roles. Unless someone were to set down a pay scale of leading actor makes x supporting makes y etc. But then you lose the motivation for some and the ability to entice an actor to fill a role. Also if an Indy film company had to pay actors the same amount as block busters then Indy films would die. There can not be equal pay in such an objective field. There are no equal parts. If you want equal pay go work at McDonald's. They all have the same starting pay regardless of sex. Actors make such exuberant amounts of money it is ridiculous. Federal minimum wage is 7.25 an hour and 40 hours a week at 52 weeks a year = 15,080 GROSS INCOME PER YEAR... It would take over 66 years to GROSS 1,000,000 and if you started working at 18 you would be 84 years old before you ever grossed 1,000,000 dollars. Do any of these highly paid people even consider how fucking good they have it making the insane amount of money that they do?

it's about fairness, and the effect it's gonna give to other fields of industry. I don't understand why men are so opposed to the idea of equality. it's not like women automatically get paid equal if they don't deserve it. it's equal chance to participate in competitions and equal rewards. men probably are just scared to admit women are more talented in traditionally male dominated fields and the only thing keeping the men in their position is that male previllege. brother you better get your apron and start flipping omelettes. your wife is gonna need it after days of working managing her own company.

*I don't understand why men are so opposed to the idea of equality* It is demonstrably true that they are overwhelmingly in support of equality of opportunity and reward. *it's not like women automatically get paid equal if they don't deserve it.* That is the problem with the free and open market and feminism. For a person (male of female) to demand equal pay for equal work (when the person's market value is the barometer for salary) is a problem, unless we disregard capitalism and move towards a more Marxist/Communist ideology. *men probably are just scared to admit women are more talented in traditionally male dominated fields and the only thing keeping the men in their position is that male previllege* *Privilege Research has shown that most women prefer 'traditional' jobs for women, like child psychology and nursing. Affirmative action to get women into STEM subjects has unanimously failed for this very reason, even when classes were all-female. A woman can do whatever she wants. The PM of the UK is a female, the highest grossing musician is a female (Adele), Oprah is a black multi-billionaire woman. I can go on for several A4 pages. This idea of 'male privilege' has been debunked several times. Please use the resources at your disposal (the internet) to critically evaluate your ideas and perceptions.

Plenty of women are never given the option! im sorry you were born with a closed mind! Best of luck in life! Women have tried to Be in power positions throughout history...i doubt you've taken a basic history course* *lol ok, little boy* Misandry *I only have conversations with grown men who graduate college!* Using that philosophy - so the panel in the video don't deserve your conversation? *Plenty of women are never given the option!* Explain how this is so? Examples will help us understand your frame of reference. Remember, in a free and open market ANY woman can start a business and they do. *Women have tried to Be in power positions throughout history...i doubt you've taken a basic history course* The modern world where a woman can do and be anything she pleases (and the same goes for men) has existed as it is for a very short time. The sexual revolution, second industrial revolution and tech revolution all took part since the 1960's. Now, what we need to do is look at the past 20 years. Example: The UK has a female head of state, a female Prime Minister, the best selling musician is a female (Adele), Denise Coates is the highest paid CEO, do I need to go on? So easy to blame and blame and blame.

They have no idea what they are talking about. Across many industries, women are actually given higher positions than men because it looks good. Yes, they get good salaries, even better than men when they're in top positions. When we talk Hollywood, we talk box-office. Chastain said that if she works on a film for 2 months and an actor works for three weeks, she wants to be paid more. Now, if Chastain worked on a film for two months, but Tom Cruise came in for a supporting part and was there for three weeks, of course they're going to pay him more. He's Tom Cruise. That's the logical fallacy. Box-office determines pay in Hollywood. Experience and awards come second.

Jeremy Renner's been in the business for over 20 years, was the star of a best picture winner, is in two big franchises, and has many critically acclaimed films. Jennifer Lawrence is in two franchises but only has 3 acclaimed films. Silver Linings Playbook, Winter's Bone and American Hustle. It's an impressive career for her age, but of course he's gonna earn more. Why don't people bring up the fact that she earned 20 million for Passengers and Pratt who came off Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World earned 12? You know why she earned more? She's more marketable than he is.

I work in the media now, but before that I worked in the business world. Most marketing executives that we used to meet were women. Most HR executives were women. Most administration executives were women. The only departments where men were the majority were IT, Operations and Financial departments. Yes, there are certain companies where putting women in top positions looks good, regardless of their capabilities.

There's no such thing as full equality, the people who can't realize this don't deserve to speak about "equality" or sexual harassment, sexual harassment is a kind of sex proposal, you can't deny it, there's no forcing in it, that's why it's not a crime, people who can't see this are morons. And unfortunately, most of the world aren't real scholar, especially these actresses, they're great being in a movie but in real life, don't mess with something that you don't fully understand.

chima chibi That's not taking advantage, those in the waiting list, if chosen immediately set out for a fortune and prosperous life, how's that fair, the entire industry is built on casting director preferences, because there's no measure standard for acting at all, an industry created by chances, and sexual harassment, well it's not a crime, last time I checked, which was 2 minutes ago, it isn't in the constitution, there's a reason for that. Women who are always complain about the inequality either are really stupid, delusional or both.

chima chibi No, there isn't, this is a free country and seconds right is the right of liberty, not the right to pursuit happiness, meaning that they're allowed to do anything as long as it doesn't affect others physically, too be honest, sexual harassment is an excuse for weaknesses, so they're vulnerable, big woop, there are people dying of hunger and they only have to hear some dirty words, that's what hypocrites look like.
