@@birdseyeview219 Maybe in the first set. Or did you really watch the entire match? This was a close tight match and very good game from both players. Emma had 8 aces. In the Tie break Wang had no answer to Emma's straight 7 points 0 for Wang. Unfortunate though that Emma suffered a hip spasm in the deciding set when she was ahead 4 / 2. Imagine the pain she was going through and Wang took advantage of that. Still a score of 7 / 5 in the deciding set showed you that Emma fought hard and showed calmness and poise in spite of the injury. Even the commentators agreed this was a very good game from both players.

@Young Young Yes totally agreed. But Emma seems to have those kind of games where the score is somehow one sided. My observation is It is more of nerves understandable because most of her opponents are new to her. But you can see that she does read her opponent well and cope well in adjusting her games a sign of a high IQ on court. It is just annoying that some folks make ridiculous comments by simply judging the score but did not really watch the match.

I have not been altogether surprised by Emma's results since her historic US Open. For all her natural ability, she is still a novice on the tour and will have to get used to the fact that everyone she plays will now study her style and redouble their efforts to bring their best game. With a Coach now in place and a new season awaiting, I remain confident that the best is yet to come. Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative.

She made a truly remarkable victory at the US Open, playing near perfect tennis. She also said it herself, that there are a lot of talented women on the tour that can just as easily win the title and she’s right. I feel like anyone in the top 200 in women’s can win an open the way they’ve all been playing. Not to mention there are different styles of players. Emma being so new to the tour will of course have to learn how to play against these ppl and she knows that as well. I think she has a good head on her despite ppl being afraid of her mentality after winning an open. She just needs to concentrate on herself & each match. This is now three tournaments in a row after the US Open that she doesn't even make the final. I can understand why many players will beat Raducanu, at least for the moment.. At the US open, she really took many players by surprise who didn't quite know what to do with her or about her amazing run; and since then it seems all the players are going at her very hard like an object to be defeated because of how fantastically she performed at the US-Open. To add to this, her US-Open fabulous, never-before-achieved performance is the sort of stuff that places a lot of psychological pressure on someone who imagines that everyone wants to see a follow-up of that run and will scrutinise all her matches in the light of the US-Open run, which overall can lead to *not* performing as brilliantly as at the US-Open. Raducanu is a brilliant and skilful player, no doubt about it, but I think she needs time to settle in the mental side of things.

Commentators also noted this during the US Open, and usually it took one or two games for her to get a handle on that occasion. Here it seems to be taking a set for her to get to ground herself. Here both players were playing well, with the usual ups and downs. On the broadcast I was watching, the commentators noted right from the start that Wang was playing much higher level tennis than rank 105, so it’s not that Emma was playing badly at all. This is unfortunate loss for Emma as she did play well. A lot of ppl will look at her recent losses as an indictment of the continuing saga with coaching. I look at whats happening to Emma as close comparisons to Naomi. They both fired coaches after winning majors. This is unheard of in the past. Emma's public reason was that she was in search of more experienced WTA coaches. OK, since her current coach only has a few months under his belt, you can make that a reason but it's not significant enough to be believed. Naomi fired her coach because she didn't wanted success over happiness. Strangely, if success doesn't bring her any happiness maybe failures will. Well, we know that at this point, nothing has brought her any joy from tennis. What I suspect that in both cases, both women wants to be known for their talent. And having a specific coach bring you success tarnishes that image. It's well known that during Federer extraordinary success during his peak years, he didn't even have a coach for a few years. But of course, no one has this man's talent. Even Djokovic success has been tied to his one coach and without that coach his career has plummeted. And to try to say you want to be seen as coach independent is ambitious but it's not reality.

Congratulations wang! ✨🥳 (this isnt hate towards emma, she is an amazing player). I feel like emma is a bit like Naomi Osaka, amazing athlete but a bit unpredictable. Every match you dont know if she will play amazing, or not her best. Today was not one of her best days. Its a bit disappointing that she has nit gone that far in any of her tournamets so far since US open. Its a bit of a step down I think. ( No hate!) Rember before US open she was ranked like 100 below or something. I hope Emma can learn from all her loses and come back stronger for the AUS open. Also It was a fantastic and tense game! Well done to both players! 🇬🇧🇨🇳

Damn, she has all the attributes to be a top 10 player. But Emma shouldn't be too disheartened as almost all of the players she'll be facing on the WTA tour now are all more experienced than her! For all those doubting Thomases out there, just remember another precocious teenager who won his maiden Slam at age 19 at the US Open as well and didn't win another WTA tournament for almost a year after that and had to wait 3 years for his second Slam. His name? Well none other than the legendary "pistol" Pete Sampras!😂

People need to accept the fact that Raducanu is an average WTA player. Not a bad player at all, but also not a run-away dominating player like Serena, Hingis, and Graf were. She isn't even as above average as Sharapova was and Barty is. There are many, many, many average WTA players who had good runs at majors. In just the last few years, a few majors were won by average players the likes of Stosar, Pennetta, Sloan Stephens, Andreescu, Sofia Kenin. Sometimes even multiple-time winner like Kerber and Muguruza are just honestly above average, not dominating. To think Raducanu as the new face of WTA and for her to win everything is unrealistic. Raducanu deserves the US Open trophy, and it was very special to be a qualifier winning it all. But the matter of the fact is, WTA doesn't have the consistent big-3 or big-4 like the ATP. Since the Williams sisters, pretty much any WTA player has a fair shot of winning the trophy going into any major. If we recognize this fact, we wouldn't put so much pressure and expectation on Raducanu.

You should also recognise she’s the most inexperienced slam winner ever being 5 months on tour and is without coach right now. You can’t be making such claims like “she’s average” when she’s just getting started and developing.

@@jgooner894 Were you and I commenting on the similar thing in another video? Nice to be chatting with you again. Don't get me wrong, I follow Raducanu and I support her just like you do, that's why I'm watching videos on her too. Maybe the difference between you and me is that I don't believe in telling youngsters that they are "special" when they are not. I recognize that Raducanu can still develop and may be one day she can be a number 1, which is not too far from her ability. May be she can win a few more majors in the future. But as of right now, based on the level where she is, she is average. I teach my own kids to have a growth mindset, keep learning and improving. I would tell Raducanu the same thing too if she reads this comment. But I wouldn't necessarily tell her that she is special, because the fact is she isn't. Are you claiming that she is already as good as Williams sisters/Graff/Federer/Nadal/Djok? Surely I am not going to compare Raducanu to any of these GOATs despite the fact that she is a USOpen champion at 18. Encouraging a young person is different than telling that that they are already great. You said that yourself, she still needs developing, so she "isn't" great yet. So let her develop in peace. When she becomes better than average, I will say that about her then. Right now, she is average, and the fact is she happened to win the US Open with an average level of play.

@@andyhung424able I agree with a lot of what you said except her level at the US Open was average. She outplayed a lot of opponents and had great composure when she was down on serve, her match against a dogged opponent like Sorribes Tormo was a masterclass. I doubt she has people calling her special all the time with how humble she is, she recognises she has to do more work and that she’s very new to to is.

Now the charges have been dropped, but she has lost her shape, pace, and place WTA-23. She was unlucky, now she is a completely unfair candidate to be eliminated from the top 100. Really high quality match by two future stars of the game, shame it didn't go to a third set tie break. People will take it as an opportunity to attack Emma but they're clueless. Tennis players don't reach their peak until their mid 20s, she isn't half the tennis player she will become but already has a slam in the bag. Even in this game you could see what sets her apart, that killer mentality in the second set tie break. What she lacks is consistency and physical conditioning. Ironically the slams suit her because of the extra day off between games and the big stage doesn't phase her like it does her opponents. Hopefully she'll have a great off season and then a great Australian Open.
