Long time follower of you guys, but something about this vid has compelled me to write this comment and say what an unbelievable journey its been following you from close to the start and how much I have enjoyed it. I've listened to hip hop for over a decade and its really the only genre I listen to, so while I enjoy following guys who are all about deconstructing and hype reactions to tracks, I have equally loved every minute of following your journey. There is something so genuine and pure about your reactions and your live and learn attitude and approach to hip hop is really inspiring and sets such a great example for life in general. You dont pretend to know everything but your curiosity and enjoyment is infectious and its so awesome seeing you guys fall in love with elements of hip hop that I have loved for years. What's also great is that because you have come from 'outside' the genre you have none of the common biases of a general hip hop fan, and can appreciate a lot of different types of hip hop for what they are. I love your idea of tracking an artists journey too, especially as eminem is my favourite artist of all time, I think its a really cool idea and again shows your genuine growing love for the genre. A mark of just how far you guys have come is hearing you comment about rhyme schemes and rhyme patterns, because that is such a core element of rapping in particular. Sometimes its not what you say, but how you say it. Em is probably the best example of this, particularly on his newer stuff. The subject matter may not always be engaging or relatable (to be fair his rapping about drugs in the early days wasnt relatable to me either) but the way in which he constructs rhymes and verses and flow is simply phenomenal, and perhaps unmatched. His earlier work had the perfect mix of subject matter and rhyme skill while still sounding unique and amazing and his newer stuff probably has more emphasise on rhyme skill and sounds less fluid and in some ways less sonically pleasing (probably because of his attempts to stay relevant in the pop sphere). That is of course to generalise it because he has newer songs that are amazing on all fronts but that's broadly his journey IMO and I'll be fascinated to see what you guys make of it. A great example of that is this song. As you guys put it, this song has a universal appeal in its subject matter, but actually is still technically briiliant. For years I missed just how brilliant his rhyming is in this song is, his use of assonance in verse 2 in particular is so subtle its brilliant. Anyway much love looking forward to the rest!

The lyric: "He's nervous but on the surface he looks calm and ready." makes complete sense, you guys are confused.

This is for sure one of the best songs ever written. A song being overplayed doesn't diminish it's quality. Looking forward to more Eminem. A lot of the songs people have mentioned are worth checking out, but a couple newer ones that i think are some of his best ever are Headlights which is his apology to his mum, and Evil Twin, which is just him on top form with bars and word play. Both from his MMLP2 album from 2013.

Very glad to have seen Eminem and this track live at Friends Arena in Stockholm Sweden 2018,, funny thing is that everyone thought the concert was over and started to leave, then a guy sat by the piano and played the intro melody to this track and everyone rushed back, truly amazing artist! grew up with his music.

Yo I can’t let it go, almost every word rhymes in this song, the first verse has a phenomenal rhyme scheme whilst simultaneously creating a vivid image for the listener. One of the best examples of insane rhyme capabilities under the restrictions of coherent story telling.
