Tips for the Emergency Weight Drop demonstration skill:
1. Perform it slowly
2. Have an assistant to catch the weights before they can damage the pool or use a soft weight belt or soft integrated weight system.

    nice video, here I notice that you did not engage the dive master, is it because you are at the surface?

    Yes, correct. In real life when someone is panicked and needs to realise the weights on the surface there will also be no Divemaster to catch it. The reason why people interact with the Divemaster on some video's or Divemaster and IDC training courses is because they don't want the weights to damage the floor of the pool or have to pick them up in confined open water. We use special soft weights during confined training which enables us to perform this skill much more realistic without a Divemaster "catching" the weights. I hope this helped and have a great day!
