What you’re seeing is my gut reaction to the accident. I'm not entirely sure what went wrong, but I do remember hearing the clutch pop seconds before I pressed record. Some riders did mention that they saw him trying to do a wheelie. (but who really knows)
It's important to note, that after the crash, we all kind of thought he was going to be able to get up and possibly ride home. That was not the case. Apparently, he had a previous injury that was causing him some serious pain, which ultimately led to the air rescue.
This whole process took about 3 hours, and it was grim to say the least. This will be my third accident I've captured on camera, and I am remorse to say it won't be my last. I encourage riders to tread carefully when riding in the canyons and to take heed of this video.
If you watch closely, you'll notice that I was standing in the same exact spot where he crashed at. (won't be doing that again)
And yes, the ever so trusty zip ties saved the day again for another Yamaha.
