This is part of your testimony. Transparency is key. You never know who will be set free from their own stuff because you trusted God with telling the truth in raw form. Don't ever delete this vid. Also, y'alls "baggage" is equivalent to a Ziplock sandwich bag when compared to what other people are lugging around. Keep sharing. It's ministry. ❤

It’s not embarrassing, it’s REAL. Relationships don’t usually start perfectly and definitely have their imperfect moments, especially at the beginning. But the imperfect moments can lead to the beautiful ones. Love your guys honesty and transparency. You’re both so relatable and down to earth. God bless you both, I wish you life long happiness and love.

I wouldn’t label this one “embarrassing” because I think it’s raw truth about how human relationships actually work. “Hot mess and not smooth” is a REAL relationship vs. all ‘perfect-y’ and pretty and easy. Being your true self and trying to partner with another human is absolutely messy. The key there is each person being authentically themselves while trying to “merge” (for lack of a better word) with someone else. To be vulnerable and honest with each other is a HUGE gamble with your heart, and I don’t see how that can’t be messy nor smooth. Not if you want to get real and build a solid foundation as a couple. I love what you said Shawn - “open your heart to the intention behind it” - we all f-up but in an honest relationship you have to know there’s never ill-intended actions nor words. Poorly executed? Yes! But never malice. If you can know and feel that about your partner, so many interactions can be de-escalated quickly. I speak from experience on this - my husband just assumes I’m always trying to get in a dig at him. It sucks, but I know that says way more about him and his insecurities. I hope lots of young people listen to this and learn from it. This is a good one! 💗

Maybe certain situations are embarrassing or seemingly unimportant to talk about but it’s so impactful to see you guys be so open and willing to share even the seemingly trivial things. But it’s not! Your honesty has made feel more relaxed in approaching relationships because I realize that no one is perfect and we all make mistakes, and that God can use anything he wants to in our lives! Thanks for devoting the time to do this!

Don’t be embarrassed! We’re all a little crazy for love!! I have so many embarrassing romance stories and I’m only 24 😂 and I don’t even date around because I’m a workaholic 🤦🏻‍♀️ anyway, I love yalls honesty and have been jumping to watch each video because it’s nice to know that people I admire go through the same things we all do. I’ve always been someone that’s curious about other people’s love lives. I just love hearing everybody’s different perspectives and why they love their partner... idk, I’ve just always been curious. So this podcast is very fulfilling because y’all are so inspirational and humble. I just wanted to comment this to encourage y’all to keep doing it! Y’all are simply spreading your love and it’s pretttttttty awesome.

boys are definitely socialized to do whatever it takes to get the woman they desire, and girls are taught to please men in so many ways. Rarer to hear of boys being taught to respect others, and of girls to stand up for themselves and risk looking rude.

So , i did what shawn did, ghosted my future husband for months. I was scared, and hurt from previous assholes! Whats crazy is i prayed for someone like my hubby, and i almost pushed away my soulmate. We have been together years! Got together at 21 years old. Bought a house, and 3 kids many animals later best choice i ever made! He drives me crazy haha but i love him

"underage drinking" is very subjective. In most countries you can legally drink at 18. So you're all good Shawn 👍

My point is, she shouldn't feel too bad about it. What's "underage" drinking is a construct. It's not something objective

And that silly "construct" as the previous commentator in reply to your myopic statement has referred to it ----has set up a childish "forbidden fruit" syndrome surrounding alcohol and the role it plays in social situations. Many more mature , civilized nations haven't any real age restrictions vis-a-vis consumption /purchase etc. of alcoholic beverages simply because the society doesn't make such a big deal out of the whole thing. "In my day"(1980's) with the exception of the almost always socialist State of California, most States had the age set at a more reasonable 18 or 19. I mean, for God's Sake. Some poor sap is about to embark on his second tour of duty(Army/Marines)designated for assignment to some savage war-torn wasteland and he comes "home" on leave and has got to worry about being "carded" while out for drinks with friends and/or family. What an absurdity .

@@anna.m8 Exactly. I mean 14-year-olds are able to drive cars and at 18, are able to buy semi-automatic rifles in some states. America is one weird place in terms of the law.

One of your best videos. Relationships are messy. Honesty is always best and you learn how to be honest with tact the more you practice. You two are absolutely right about being yourself, you can only pretend for so long. This video shows how much work goes into making love work. Love alone will not keep a relationship alive, work is love's nutrition. Wonderful video. God bless you both.

Love you both and your candid approach talking about your history. I knew and dated my husband off and on for 10 years before we were married. Been married for 27 years, so yeah we have a lot of history too. Real, lasting relationships are never perfect...it's important to be honest and hopefully laugh later about the messy stuff. Thanks for sharing and being real about your lovely history including embarrassing stories.
