Michael Shannon as Elvis says to the Jerry Schilling actor "I had to throw the Beatles under the bus, but it worked." That's the way it went down.

I mean Lennon wasn't a dick but his philosophy about make love, not war was diametrically different like Elvis philosophy. The second thing is i love them both, Elvis and Beatles too, but Elvis had two personalities. One was a such Nice guy with biggest heart in the world, but the second Elvis was egoistic who feared for his popularity. I mean he respected the Beatles, he liked their music, but he hated the Beatlemania because from 1965-1970 Beatles was more popular like Elvis.

I’ve heard there isn’t really any good evidence to back this up. Remember, Nixon recorded everything, and this apparently included his meeting with Elvis. I believe these tapes were investigated and this conversation did not occur.
