I love this song from one of my favorite Elvis movies.The mid sixties got a lot of stick from critics and fans alike but they were movies of their time and millions of people loved them.All of hem had one thing in common .The greatest singer ever to be filmed and recorded.He had the potential to be so much better if some dimwit manager had not just gone for the quick big bucks.

Elvis should have recorded a few albums that were nothing but blues. He had tunes that gave a hint of what he could do and they were blistering: "Down In the Alley," "Reconsider Baby," "Mystery Train," "Steamroller Blues," "Mean Woman Blues," "A Mess of Blues," "Power of My Love," "Blue Christmas," "Milkcow Blues Boogie," "Tiger Man," "Baby, What Do You Want Me To Do?" "Beach Boy Blues," "Crawfish" and this -- "Hard Luck." I understand Elvis late in his career performed a live version of "Suzie Q" that had to be heard & seen to be believed. Would have been great to see Elvis with Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, John Mayall, Eric Clapton and some of the others who wanted to perform with him. (There are pictures of Elvis with rock greats Fats Domino, Jackie Wilson and Bobby Darin).

I loved most of the Elvis movies. Admittedly some were not up to standard but when you hear the King sing like this in an otherwise seldom seen film you realise there are gems that are not given the credit they deserve. He really was the best.

Até Blues não. Principalmente. O Elvis só não foi um cantor exclusivamente de Blues porque era um gênio, um criador, e trafegou com facilidade por todas as searas da música, menos Jazz, que ele não entendia, nem suportava .

I think the closest thing to a Blues album by Elvis is "Elvis Is Back". Not all the tracks are blues, but it is a good album.
