All those who met Elvis of whatever race, colour or gender, be they celebrity, rich or poorest of folk, none of them ever say a bad word about him. They all talk in awe and love of his beauty inside and out...now that is very unusual, and VERY SPECIAL. What an amazing and unique man he was in so many ways. The Goat!

These are the stories I love to hear about Elvis. Not the ones of people who trash him or talk about his private life so they can make money off it. I often wonder how their private lives would look if someone lifted the lid on them. Elvis was an amazing one of a kind talent who touched so many peoples lives, I know here in Australia so many of our artists got into music because they heard Elvis and wanted txo be like him and did what he did. I was only 12 when he died but his impact on me was enormous. It seems to me that the only people who accuse Elvis of being racist are the ones who never even met or talked to the man. So many people of colour who knew him personally loved him and had nothing but good things to say about him There's a line about Elvis thats used a lot and i think its true. Like a prince from another planet. I'm a straight male but agree with Jerry Reeds comment. He was probably the best looking man you've ever seen. Talent charisma, a warm generous giving heart. Nobody else will even come close to what he achieved. The sad thing is his legacy could have been so much bigger

I remember reading an article about how when Elvis came out the Colonel never allowed him to be seen too much. Before his first movie the Colonel had a figure of Elvis about 70Ft. tall erected above the theatre where Love Me Tender was going to debut in NY. When it was unveiled it was shocking because when everyone thought of Elvis they thought of him as bigger than life. There was ELVIS and everyone else.

I not only got to meet Elvis but I was his side man in the movie "Double Trouble" I played a member of his band mainly on lead guitar but also on various other instruments. It was great fun indeed and Elvis was very kind and great to work with. I am on the cover of the DVD with him along with our drummer. I am on the white Fender Strat and on the right as you look at the DVD and our drummer is on the left. Or the blond guy is the drummer and the guy with black hair is me. The band broke up after the movie and I have been a professional photographer ever since then. I have no idea about the other members of the group we have never kept in touch. We went be the name of the Fifth Amendment prior to doing the movie but decided to call ourselves the G-Men as that was our name in the film...you can see how well that all worked out. The one thing I will say regarding Elvis is that you could see the amount of pressure he was under every day...I would not have wanted to exchange places with him as we all can see what ended up happening to Elvis...very sad ending to a brilliant career that burned out all to soon.

It's come out sum huge Breaking News that not only Elvis but also Tom Jones both wanted to knock John Lennon out. Cuz if the stupid shit that Dead beat Dad said about America & the Army & Troops and so on. When Elvis let the Beatles meet him at his House in LA John Lennon was talking all this Shit about that and Elvis was old School you don't get they tried to end Elvis's Career many times the Government but back then they didn't know it. But Elvis did 2 Years in the Army at the Top of his Career when he held the World in his hands and they Drafted his Ass when he was in his Mind 20s an only Child. Which is against the law cuz you can't Draft an Only Son of a Family cuz he's the only one to continue to plant the Seeds to continue the family name yet there he was Drafted with 18 Year old kid's. He could of just did 2 year's in the Army doing special show's for the Troops but he said No. He said that's Not Fair to those other Kid's out there with me. I font want any special treatments I want to be treated just like them & he was an he did. Sleeping 6 Month's out of the Year out in the Fields in the Snow in Germany 15 Below ZERO. And you think he's gonna have some Foreigner invited to his House who are Huge Fans if his and started a band cuz of him disrespect his Country his Flag his Troops his President after he almost lost his entire Music & Movie Career. Use your Damn Brain Lady. Elvis wanted to kick his little scrawny Ass right there to see how much he could back up his Mouth. And it just came out that one time Elvis and Tom Jones were talking and someone said John Lennon's Name & Elvis said don't say that SOB name as it was going on in the News the President wanted to ban him & throw his Ass out of the Country. You want to come here and make all our American people's Money & talk Shit. Stay in your Country & see how much you make there. And Tom Jones said I don't like that SOB he said some stuff backstage & I wanted to take him outside to see how tough he was on his fees. You probably still don't get it. And I like Lennon but he's not in Elvis Presley Class all Street Drugs cheating leaving his Wife & baby Son to go off with some ugly bug eyed Gross Ass looking Yoko. Dude had No taste for Women. Elvis they started him on Pills the Government in the Army to keep him awake like they did Johnny Cash. Elvis was clean cut never took nothing up till then.

The rest of it is on KZread, and it's funny listening to him tell this story. :) Bill Medley did a song called Old Friend in, I think, 1984, as a tribute to Elvis. It makes me cry listening to it, it's so touching. The line that gets me is, "God, you were young, it doesn't seem fair. Would you be here if I could've been there? Old friend, my heart's crying once again." Here's a link. Beautiful pictures. Get a tissue. You can feel the love from Bill to his friend. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGaGyKmYpaSyc7A.html

I see it in some of today’s stars too but when you look at tapes and interviews how much pressure he’s under and how everything was in the public eye. It’s unfortunate because at the end of the day they’re just people, human beings, with worries and fears. People that get tired and need a break, that need a support system. People that mistrust and cry and need personal space.

I grew up watching Elvis; and, he was one of the most famous people in history; however, Elvis was just a man like any other... Elvis will stand in judgment just as any man or woman will stand in judgment. His fame will do him no good on judgment day. His awards will have no weight on his salvation; his, popularity will give him no leniency. We all stand in judgment Equally..... Just because people are famous; doesn't, make them better.....

Apparently, Bob dylan met Elvis, and wrote a song about it. It's an obscure beauty from Bob titled Went To See The Gypsy. It is on the great NEW MORNING album. In it a dancing girl screams at Bob, " Go on back to see the gypsy,, He can move you from the rear, drive you from your fear, Bring you through the mirror, He did it in Las Vegas and he can do it here ".Dylan fans have always attributed this to Elvis. and there were rumours that they met.....Thank you for an extremely interesting video. such an eye opener!

Rubbish! The Beatles dethroned him! They wrote their own music and evolved artistically so well. Elvis did well only in the 1950s. Even then, he never wrote his own songs. He sponged off others. In the 1960s, he declined at a fast rate. In the 1970s he became a dead man walking. He became a mere relic of the past. Even Stoller who (with Lieber) wrote some of his most famous songs once said Elvis became a parody of himself. And, by the way, Stoller also said that the Beatles were second to none in every department.

@@athenaminerva8954 Right. And you could add that it's because of the Beatles (and others) that Elvis had to make his comeback in 68 and move his ass a little. Not for a long time !! By 72/73 he was already "tired". But Elvis fans will tell you that he was exhausted, sick and his divorce blablabla, and that nasty Colonel Parker etc ...Those fans probably never heard about singers like Mick Jagger who has more energy at 76 than Elvis had in his late 30's !!! (Sorry if my English is not that good).
