Have never come across Mavis before, and I must say she is a great interviewer .. Intelligent, well researched, and able to adopt a conversational manner with her guest .. Elvis definitely responded well, and gave thoughtful and interesting answers throughout .. Good stuff !

Kudos to Mavis for getting Mr C to give a little back story to "God's Comic"--one of many heretofore opaque ditties from the man. In this and the 1977 interview, Mavis was able to really put EC at ease. Maybe she reminded him of his Mum!

He's since admitted in his autobiography that he rather fancied her. A wonderful, empathetic journalist.

If I was Elvis at the time , Mavis would be wined and Dined after the Interview , if she wanted too .. then to to Bed 🛌. Great conversationalist and interviewer ..

Big fan of Elvis but I don`t like this song. Good interview though. I think he senses her genuineness and remembers their previous encounter and is quite relaxed. It`s cool,.
