And, to be fair, perfect for interviewing on a music show. Push the button and he'll talk...forever! His passion for - and his labyrinthine knowledge of - popular music is fantastic.

You could easily make a top 10 song list for the Beatles, for Dylan and just about anybody else. try making one for Elvis Costello, he has done so much that I have a top 100 elvis songs and had to leave out so many good ones. Absolute genious songwriter.

🎼 I have a deep love for Elvis Costello..... A deep appreciation for all he's done..... He is the soundtrack of the time I grew up..... I was so happy to be in his presence on his tour with the last tour of the police/ sting/Chula Vista amphitheater San Diego..... I was working backstage, I know he was really really tired on that night and I know he couldn't wait to get home, everybody in the band said that... But for me it was an incredible night to be in his presence even though he was so tired on stage and he was not giving a hundred percent. He would more than likely🤎 🎶be my Make-A-Wish wish if I could have a wish before I passed away❤🌷🎵

Glad to see RS doing long interviews for online viewing. As a male over 50, I’m curious whether it’s known just where Elvis’s malignancy was removed from in the body.

I saw him in Newcastle last year just before he canned the tour due to not having fully recovered from surgery, he did seem a little frail which was telling given how vibrant he's been other times I've seen him over the years, going back to the 80's; having said that, still sounded great, the reinventions of some of the songs from Imperial Bedroom in particular were stunning

Elvis is very keen not to talk in much detail about the cancer. He was very upset when a well-known British tabloid ran a story about his 'cancer battle', because (a) he wanted to keep it private, and (b) he didn't feel that his was a 'battle', and that describing it as a 'battle' was an insult to people who'd really had one.

That red lit background is horrible! Ha ha! Just kidding! What an awesome interview, with such a creative, intelligent, and seemingly selfless man. Cheers Elvis! Thanks for the wealth & varied styles of music, through the years, you've allowed us to enjoy! Peace!

Kind of. I think...born in London, moved to Liverpool/Birkenhead at a very early age and spent the bulk of his childhood and teenage years there, back to London when his music career started to take off, and ultimately to the US/Canada. He still has a lot of contacts and friends in Liverpool, and his Mum still lives there. In the pre-Covid era, when he was on a tour, he would usually try and schedule Liverpool for early July to tie in with his Mum's birthday.

@@peterowen9183 My last show before Covid was Elvis live at the Liverpool Olympia on opening night in February. Before Good Year For The Roses he mentioned that his mum had been incredibly ill (he cancelled an appearance in London to go back to Liverpool and be with her as she was supposedly on her deathbed) and got tearful expressing his gratitude to the fact that nurses had worked round the clock and got her to a position where she was in the crowd that night to see him perform. After being somewhat skeptical of Elvis' live shows in the last few years (who can blame him for not being able to keep up when Pete Thomas still has the endurance of a 20 year old), the gravity of opening night in his childhood city in front of his mum meant that he put on a show not dissimilar to something he'd have put on in the 80s, an extraordinary vocal performance throughout.

@@frazerspooner7683 I was at that show too! A fantastic night. I was fortunate to also see the Manchester show as well, which turned out to be the penultimate gig before he took the decision to fly home. Looking back it feels like such a privilege.
