Pure brilliance. I was obsessed with his first five or six albums in my late teens and early twenties, and it's great to hear this different version of him. I love both the originals and these live versions. He's a genius!

I genuinely love Elvis Costello & his music, and I feel honored that my mom named me after his song Veronica 🥲🤍 Every time i hear it, i try to picture her life in ‘95, listening to his album Spike, and then deciding to name me after one his songs.

Me, myself, and I + 10’s of millions (gotta be, right?) of fans of his, Very Much Appreciate this unusually gifted, clever wordsmith....and he puts all of ‘that’ to great music, besides! That’s leaps and bounds above what any prolific poet or writer of anything has ever done! That’s mind blowing; and How did he get to be so Damn Good? I made my bed AND dinner and called it a special day because I did more than I could-do yesterday. Weird how it goes....but people like me NEED musicians like EC, and other favorites. In fact, it was Elvis’s songs that I used as my joy while I cooked. God Bless Elvis! And I thank you, Mr. Costello, for all of the songs you’ve done that have connected so many ‘dots’ along my journey of life. The friends I’ve shared your music with - some of those relationships were deeply, permanently, and profusely changed by your artistry! All for the good, of course! As a teen, I can remember hearing your early stuff with my best friend....it was love at first-listen, and it only grew. That’s pretty heavy! We could feel the transformation happening to us; we’re just about to go off to college, and then ‘real adult life’ would follow. You made Everything Better when we needed you. Thank You!!!

I have seen him perform life six or seven times (easily the best "moment" was at The Tabernacle in Atlanta where he did "I Want You" just with him and his guitar) - but they were all brilliant (even him and Allen Touissaint) - but this crushes all of them.

If they had Elvis Costello as the finale instead of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers the ending to Woodstock 99 would have been a lot less sexual assault and destruction. What’s so funny about peace, love and understanding? Elvis is truly an exceptional artist. Listener since March of 1978.

Can this possibly be the same event and venue that has been featured in two recent documentaries about an ultra-violent, dangerous, Woodstock '99 filled with disaffected attendees? I mean, look at this! I think this EC performance shows that you *can* put on a successful ultra-large festival if your talent is of *this* caliber, sends a more positive message to the crowd, elicits the right kind of energy, and the audience wants to chill out long enough to hear what you're singing. I'm an EC fan, so I may be prejudiced. And I'm not naive about the other problems that plagued the event as a whole --- but watching this, compared to the documentaries of Woodstock '99, is jaw-dropping. And Elvis going onstage with just his guitar and pianist Steve Naive was a bold move for a big crowd. But it looks like it worked.
